Small Gripe about Ad Reviewing

Wanted to note that I had an ad denied for display, the line was:

Plant Early! Wide selection of Plants.

The ad was denied due to exsessive use of puncuation?

I have 3 other ads and they were approved with the same tag line slightly modified but all with the "!" in them.

I changed my ad but thought that being denied was a bit over the top??
I have tons of ads on adwords with an "!" in them not overly done IMO.

...on that note being denied for that ad only to see ads for Pimp sumthin er another on my gardening site???

I love the coop but really one "!" is too much and Pimps are allowed??

I realize there are probably a buch of people approving ads and everyone is diffferent. Anyone else experiencing this?

Think about it. What if everyone used exclamation points in their text ads. Do you really want the following on all of your pages:

Pet Birds! Bird Watching Forums! - Pimp Game! - Computer Helpdesk! - Bowling Chat Room! - heart rate monitors!

    That would be annoying. ;)

"Avoid characters used only to grab attention (for example starting or ending ads with *, !, |, etc.)"
    is what the guidelines say.

Does not mean you cannot use them. Characters used ONLY to grab attention. I don't see how my ads use of "!" was only to grab attention. I interpret the rule as in people doing things like:

***Buy it Now! Most incredible deal ever!!!***

Anyway seems subjective to me. The guidelines should say

"No use of special characters." That would make it a little more clear.

We posted at the same time...That would be annoying. They need to change the wording on the guidelines. I was under the impression it was simalar to adwords copy guidelines.

Apparently it does mean you can't use them if your ad got denied. (I'm just giving you a hard time :D ...)

I'm not knocking it!!! I'm just bringing to attention something I see as an issue thats all!!!!!!!!!! There is my excessive use of PUNCTUATION!!!!

I understand it is free and people are volunteering their time and all the things that go with that. It is an incredible service/experiment.

Ug just bringing up a point sheesh.

"I'm just giving you a hard time" Noted and remembered ;)

    O.K. O.K. I'll keep it to myself

Don't take some of the members' feedback personal. Just remember that it is a free service and there are terms of use. Be patient, adjust your ad accordingly and who knows the terms may change at a later time.

    Hang in there!

I just wanted to point out the puncuation I was using was in the ad copy not in the title itself. I'm not sure if that point was made.

Anyway not a big issue I had changed my ad before I posted. I was just trying to get some clarification on the guidelines :)
