What is the best way to monetize my Image Hosting website?

i cant use adsense because i got banned and don't want to use adbrite or bidvertiser so what is the best alternative???

In my first 3 hours i have managed to get over 250 unique views, the site is new it has just opened 3 hours ago!

I am getting around 5k to 7k uniques per day to my imagehosting....
50% - US/UK/CA
20% - GE/EU traffic
30% - Asia Traffic

earning around 2-3$ a day!

What the hell are you blabbering about, Frank? Nobody has offered any suggestions so far.

I don't know what to say, I'm using Adsense on mine and even that is barely worthwhile. Image sites pay very little.

There are a number of other advertisers you can use, but keep in mind you will want to blend the ads in to the site so users will not ignore them.

ive found that getting relevant ads with an image site is a pain as you will get other image hosting site ads being displayed unless you filter them.
What i used was a small splash page that displayed ads for 5 seconds before the user could view the full size image.
this may anger some users so its best to set it to display every 6,12,24 hrs per ip.

Perhaps you can try Yahoo Advertising. Or monetize it with CPA offers.

Alternatively, you can sell direct advertising (get private advertisers and get paid based on monthly/weekly)

Well i can advise you with what i know, which is...

Try to create Memberships, just as ImageShack have there sorts of memberships.
You Can Create something called the GOLD MEMBER or the BRONZE etc. and each membership can have certin tools other memberships dont. Well that would only work if you were willing to actully go through with the process.

 

Indeed, I believe a premium membership once must eventually take into consideration.

 

I would watermark your images to improve traffic to your site: "this image hosted at blahblah.com join for free!" Don't permanently change the image, just do an overlay.

Your users should be required to join your email list. At the least, you will develop a big list of people you can market to (untargeted, but you will at least have a list).

OK great, now I am earning around a few $ a day because i have placed high paying pop-under ads on the view image page

I think this is the best I will do along with Widgetbucks CPM ads and Adbrites inline and full page ads.

 

Its really hard to monitize with image hosting because there isn't much content, but if you did get banned from adsense, my second option with be bidvertiser. What i would make sure you do before though is check out the top image hosting sites and compare the content to yours. If you look at the bottom of most image hosting websites they have a paragraph at the bottom that lest spiders know what your site is all about. This will greater increase your CTR, SE rankings, and hopfully your monitization will work for you.

I had bidvertiser for around 2 weeks and i had 13,568 impressions and 1 click! which is why i no longer use them on this site but i do use them on my forums.
