To increase revenue you have to increase traffic

You need quality traffic. To attract traffic to your website,
    1. Submit your site to all major search engines.
    2. Submit your site to all major internet directories
    3. Get link backs from other websites of identical theme to increase pagerank in search engines.
    4. Try to put your website's name as signature in forum posts/emails etc.
    5. Go for offline advertising like putting your website's name in your name cards etc.

You are using link units. Advice you use adsense blocks.
Then you need to drive loads of traffic to your site using seo and maybe article marketing
Your site looks good though, well done

Increase traffic to ur website. complete ur website as soon as possible, coz google dont allow to put ads on websites that are under construction. place your ad blocks in the top right or top left position of your website..
try posting in directories and classifieds for more traffic. use genuine traffic while some might spam you.

Your site reminds me of my first 1. Well.... ok... my first dozen. lol No offense, but it's really bad. I can say that because I have a lot that are even worse. lol

Here is what I would do:

1- Just forget about that site. There is no real hope in it.
2- Learn the ropes by starting a free blog with blogger. They are easy to make, free, look good, and you can learn a little about marketing a site for traffic in the meantime.
3- Start reading the seo section here like a madman/ woman. You seriously have a lot to learn about marketing for the search engines.
4- Read the adsense section here like crazy too. You have got to learn a ton about proper placement of adsense ads.
5- Ask questions. Ask a lot of questions. This is a great place to start asking.
6- After you learn the ropes with a free blog, learn how to make a nice website by buying your own domain, hosting, and tools you need to create it. By then you will be a pro looking for a site to take off with.

I wish you the very best of luck. Feel free to pm me if you have any specifics that I can try to help you with.

    :)

Seriously it takes a lot of time make money on adsense. It is no more like earlier days. Some times the money you get is not the effort. But you need to keep trying to see if it works.

Glenndorsey is right...that site won't get you very far I'm afraid. No offense.

I see you were going after the "Free Templates" keyword phrase, however that has about 11 million pages of competition, and 800,000 have "free templates" in the page title, as you do. This is fairly tough competition in my opinion. Free Templates gets approximately 500 searches per day and you're going to be looking at small earnings per click. I just wanted to give you a heads up. If I were you I'd study the websites in the signatures of Digital Point members. There are lots of good ideas to take from here, and like Glenndorsey said, ask questions about what looks good and proper placement. It's trial and error, but if you stick with it and are willing to learn, you'll start making some cash..I promise.

Use this tool http://tools.seobook.com/keyword-tools/seobook/index.php to research keywords and see how many searches per day they get. Click on the "Google Traffic Estimator" tab to see how much advertisers pay for each click and how many clicks they expect. It will give you a ball park idea of how a niche pays and if you're likely to capture any of those clicks. Study Google search results to find niches that don't have millions and millions of competing pages.

    Lots of luck to you.

I agree with the above. If you do want to continue with this site, I would suggest upgrading your template quite a bit. Make it interesting, if you have a template site, you would want it to look as nice as possible I think. Also get a domain name, and a better host. I tried 110mb.com a long time ago when I was still using free hosting and it was a bad experience. If you're sticking with free hosting, I would recommend http://awardspace.com

$20 in 2 months isn't so bad to start out with. I have made just over $10 in about 9 months. Keep trying, you'll get there eventually!

    you know what...
i will, not completely, but stray away from the template site.
you guys are right, the main thing i counted on was the fact that people will like the free part.
i guess i will change the topic of my main site and start to work with blogger.
i am still thinking about what should my topic be about, but i was leaning towards like petroleum and global warming and stuff like that. no, i am not a tree huger, in case you are wondering. i am an environmentalist though no doubt.
anyways if you guys have a better idea i would appreciate to hear them from you.
i will let you know when the blog is up and running.
    Thanks.

Nothing wrong with tree huggers. Beats conservative christians any day, if you ask me. Yeah that site isn't going anywhere. I know for a fact that the environment is actually a decent paying subject, but it's hard to get traffic as there is already a lot of great content out there. You better know your stuff and write great articles.

killhawaii--- Just a pointer to throw your way: Forget everything and just write about something you care about for a bit. That's the point of starting with a blogger blog. You just find something that you love, write your butt off, and make it into the best dang tree hugging blog in the world. After you have it rocking and blowing away all the other tree hugger blogs, start analyzing things and learning some major lessons. Here are some lessons you will eventually need to learn:

1- Titles make all the difference in the world. You can have the greatest article about making out with trees, but if you title it "Hugz", the search engines won't show you any love. There is a real art to writing titles for search engines, and it takes a lot of practice, talent, and time.

2- Adsense placement and blending doesn't mean ANYTHING without good traffic. You can make everything perfect, but who cares if you are getting 5 visitors a day?

3- Good traffic = Google traffic, unless you can afford ppc

4- Writing articles/ pages/ posts for search engines is an art in and of itself. You may hear people tell you to write for real people and not search engines, but that's not really optimal. There are some tweaks you need to make for the search engines (G is the only one that matters really, even though I hate them!).

5- Long tailed keywords are where the big numbers (and the big $$) are at. You can take the most competitive niche out there and still make a bundle in the ltkw's. How? That's a $500 e-book I'm writing. lol

6- Links = love. If you want G to love you, you need to spread your link seeds everywhere.

7- A good looking site can make a HUGE difference to you and your visitors. If your site is ugly and not structured well, you will get bored with it and quit (or be ashamed of it lol). Your visitors will also hit the back button asap out of fear.

But i really think you need to forget about all of that for now. Just get a free blog, pick something you can write your azz off about, and start writing. After you get a few dozen posts in, start looking for some information on these issues you need to learn, and a lot more. It will come to you with time and work, but you just need to start off with the basics. Blogger is the best way to start with those basics.

    All the luck to ya!

    :)

I learnt about SEO by googling it and just reading anything I can. You need to get some backlinks to get more traffic, and you need to advertise generally. Get some good content set up to get some established readers/users.
