From my own personal experience, I know that every SEO Newbie is desperate to get his site quickly indexed and optimized. I want to share some of the basic seo mistakes that seo beginners perform. SEO Newbies will find this useful.

1. Content is King : No unique content. Content not updated regularly.
2. Using a wrong keyword for the title of your site.
3. Stuffing the meta keywords tag and the content of your website with too many keywords.
4. Usage of Doorway Pages or Page Cloaking. Cloaking is a black hat search engine optimization (SEO) technique in which the content presented to the search engine spider is different from that presented to the users browser.
5. Using Automatic Search Engine Submission Tools.
6. Participation in Link Baiting or Link Farms. Renting out too many links from your site could also harm your site.
7. Hidden or invisible text
8. Using Frames and a lot of Flash in your sites.

Actually this post was done because, still, DP Forum is flooded with Beginners who don't understand the basics and do silly things.

Did you notice that he said in the title and in the post that the tips were for beginners? I am sure that there are a lot of beginners here at DP, both members and lurkers, who could benefit from reading this

I think he wants to help people who are new and we shall thank him instead
of critizing him. thats my view.

Those are very basic tips for beginners, everyone should follow them. But someone of us maybe forget one of them & lead to mistakes.

 

So how many keywords does it take to constitute "stuffing"? I routinely use in the neighborhood of 20-30, but I've heard others say 5 max. Any ideas?

Thanks for supporting. I don't why people want to criticize a post. They had better ignore it if it were not useful. I never said best or top seo mistakes. I have missed out a lot of mistakes here myself. Like giving the details of how many keywords constitute stuffing etc. But thats not the point. They can google around and search. Just that I felt like sharing those nitty gritty things that poople should know about.

As far as your question goes

The "All in one SEO" Plugin for wordpress has ability to change meta tags per post. Title, Keywords, Description & Robots. I use the All In One SEO Pack to allow me to not only rewrite my page and post titles, but also write which keywords and meta descriptions I want to use on each page and post, rather than the whole blog (since hard-coding it n the header.php file will cause the same text to be used on every page and post).

As far as wordpress goes there are other intresting plugins that you need to install like Sitemap etc. Please have a look at

Don't give it a second thought.
Google hasn't looked at keyword tags for years.

And they've started rolling out technology that is more flash-friendly.

These 'tips' are very out-of date.

 

still useful for me as nubie in SEO field.

 

thanks for sharing and also add this:

- avoid using "click here", instead use your KW's for anchor text...
- avoid "welcome" in the title page again use your KW's
- and the good practice / arrangement for the <tile> and meta tags is this:

<head>
<title></title>
<meta description>
<meta KW's>
</head>

 

Thats what they tell you but then there is many people that huge money with copy content, using automatic SET. So i do not know about if the tips from Google really works.
