How did a site with 1 backlink get a pagerank of 7?

    They only have one backlink and not much content. How do you explain this PR? Thanks.

    Not all links are visible, and I did find one back link that is PR6. There seems to be some three way linking going on too.

    I'm seeing 17 backlinks with 1 pr6 in yahoo, still don't get it though, but then I don't get how one of mine is PR5 too :)

    backlinks doesn't matter , if the content of your site is good, its enough for high pr.

    Not all backward links show also wait for the next update maybe some changes due to links being taken out.

    PR has nothing to do with content, it is calculated according quality, age and quantity of your incoming links.

    not all backlink checker shows the exact number of backlinks of a site, and there are other qualifications to have a high pr like age of domain and etc...

    Google don't show all of the backlinks that they know about, so the site almost certainly has more than one.

    However, it's perfectly possible to get to a PR7 with one link - one from a PR10, possibly a PR9 page will do it.

    I suggest you read up on Pagerank a bit more. It has absolutely nothing to do with the content of a page. Technically a blank page can get to a PR10.

    but it has 21 Yahoo backlinks.

    but def shows up as a faked PR

    Yes the pagerank can be forged, you must search well for links because it must have some good pagerank links, if it doesn't have good PR links then it's a scam

    Hello everyone,

    Nobody except Google knows the "actual PR". PR is exported to "Google Toolbar" on every PR update. But we haven't come across PR updates recently, suggesting this PR 7 may be old.

    Again never be deceived by PR. Is this guy making any business? Is he ranking for his desired keywords? does all the top ranking websites have "high PR"? please please please

    Forget PR and work hard to improve conversions and user experience.
