Look, this is really simple... You need to do SEO for *anything* you wish to rank well for. Period!

SEO is not a simple matter of "add keywords and you're done" as many seem to think. It's a combination of many things and what you do depends a lot on what your competitors are doing.

You mentioned that you have a single LANDING PAGE, you should do at least basic SEO.

Again, depending on your niche and competition, you can get away with only doing a few of these things:
    - title
    - header tags
    - keywords/placement in text
    - internal links/outbound links
    - inbound links
    - domain name
    - URL structure
    - Geographical location of your web host (yes it makes a difference)
    - optimized images/alt text
    - optimized css
    - robots.txt

These are the BASICS, they're easy to wrap your head around... take it ONE STEP AT A TIME and you will eventually get to where you are going.

    Along the way, look into:

    - PPC advertising
    - Selling via affiliate networks (if applicable)
    - sponsor websites/blogs that can drive relevant traffic
    - link building/exchange (for traffic and PR)
    - quality directory submissions

This will get you started, by the time you work your way through that list, you'll pick up a lot more useful info and skills.

    Cheers,
    Pete.

Well, you are the only one who knows the answer.
Do you wanna rank high in the search engines, or do you plan to get traffic elsewhere (e.g. PPC)? It is stupid to ask such question without telling us this.

you can park your domains so that you get clicks from organic traffic which those domains get

there are many people in DP who sell traffic...usually it is around $1 for 1000 visits..your website will appear as pop ups in many websites and that will count as traffic!!

The person who told you this is a bit of a dummy then, what sites would they benefit then?

Backlinsk benefits most sites, especially blogs and well "normal" websites not sure what they meant by this.

However i do not recommend you to purchase backlinks instead use free strategies to build backlinks.

I advise you take a look at my All in one SEO series which covers the basics of search engine optimization.
