Im using the google sitemap plugin http://www.exercisefit.net/sitemap.xml why is it just in plain text??
which actual Google sitemap plugin for WP are you using? The one we have generates in a slightly different format?
It is not actually plain text - it appears that way in the browser because your sitemap plugin is automatically creating an "XSLT stylesheet" which makes the .xml data show up in a "pretty" format. If you use the "view source" functionality of your browser you will see the raw xml. You can also disable the "XSLT stylesheet" creation in your wordpress plugin if you like.
I believe he's using the Google XML Sitemaps plugin by Arne Brachhold. It's the same one I'm using as well. Hope that helps!
Whilst we're on the subject; Many of my posts aren't showing in Google. I've checked the sitemaps.xml and the missing posts either have a double trailing slash after the domain name i.e mysite dot co dot uk//cat/somepost or the category component is missing ie. mysite dot co dot uk/somepost Any ideas? THanks
