has MS discontinued / stopped support to windows 2000 ?

    hello.

    windows 98 and windows ME were totally stopped by Microsoft in July 2007, that is, Microsoft is not any more releasing any fixes for those two OSs.

    Windows 2000 too ?

    are there planned known dates of discontinuation of support or fixes to windows 2000 /XP in the future?

    Why are some people on some forums talking about possible discontinuation of windows XP (can't any more buy it from MS) in 2008 ? (in order to force everyone to upgrade to vista.)

    All Windows 2000 support including security updates and security-related hotfixes will be terminated on July 13, 2010.
