Vista vs. Xp

which one do you prefer

People are just barely adapting to Vista. I remember back when, when '95 came out, people loved it. Than '98 people loved it. Than 2000/mil came out people were complaining just like they have with Vista. Than came XP. There were some complaints, but comparison wise, many would probably prefer XP over Vista.

From what I understand that Vista is eventually going to be phased out soon. And that they have extended the sales of XP a few weeks longer before they no longer sell them anymore. I wonder what their new system will be called and what the look and feel of that program will be like? I am sure there is someone out there that might know.

 

That is exactly right. Vista is another failure like Me was a failure. Me was even worse than Vista but Vista is the second worst os in Microsoft's history (besides maybe the 64bit xp which had very little driver support).

I don't know what's next.

 

I know Windows Seven.

 

Too expensive updating our netork to even be capable of running Vista at a reaasonable level so I'll be sticking to Xp until they make me change

 

I switched to vista when my apt got
robbed and had to get a new laptop.

At first i didn't like it but i've settled in
now and don't think about xp any more.

If i had a choice in the matter i would
of never switched to anything sporting
vista.

All of my software work so no complaints.

 

I love the look of it but its a little annoying. XP was a little easier to use in my opinion. But thats probably because I'm STILL not used to Vista fully.

 

I like both of them for some reason... maybe because vista is more graphical

 

Vista is just XP with a bunch of eyecandy for a better looking UI.

XP is better as that UI junk doesn't bog down the speed of the OS.

This is what makes Mac OS X so dominate as it combines both eyecandy and performance together with great results for both.

 

I think the vista griping is overrated, and mostly from people that haven't even used it...

 

I agree partially. If a product is bad and people review it as bad, not many people will buy because they will trust there sources to say they are bad. If every person bought a product regardless of what other people think there would be no need for "user reviews" on sites such as Amazon.

 

Windows XP is a much more mature and solid operating system, that performs much faster than Vista. Vista is a very bloated operating system that has totally missed the mark. Why do you think companies such as Dell continued to offer the option to go with XP???

 

I need to get my hands on a Vista computer, but I'm not spending money to get it. I might get a laptop with it on it though, if it's a powerful enough one.

From what I've seen of it, I don't particularly like it though.

I have to say that a majority of people who talk against Vista only talk against it because their computers can't handle it. I run Vista Ultimate x64 on a custom computer with a Triple-Core processor and four gigs of RAM. I've not had a single problem nor have I experienced a single Blue Screen Of Death error (which I routinely received on XP).

Companies like Dell continue to offer XP because they are unwilling to offer improved computers at the same prices as their current computers, which in reality, wouldn't suit well with Vista.

Here's the thing. If you have a computer ready for the next generation of computing (Vista, Windows 7, and beyond), you'll be fine. For those of you still clinging to XP, Windows 7 isn't going to be any better for you.

The same thing happened with XP. People cried that it wasn't as fast as their lovely 98 (the worst OS ever made, period) or 2000. When you are running an old Pentium III with 128 megs of RAM, of course XP isn't going to run right. It's the same situation with Vista.

If you don't have a Dual-Core processor and a good two gigs of RAM, you probably aren't going to enjoy Vista that much.

The morale is: Buy a new computer. If you invest in a good computer that can run Vista with no problems, you'll be ready for Windows 7.
