I trink this is the right section for this, if its not them I'm sorry. OK, anyway, so I tried my hand at making a blog template. Please give me some feedback so I know where I went wrong so I can improve. Thanks in advance Simon ----------------------------------
Not that I plan to before making some final touches, but how much do you think this would be worth uncoded? Just out of interest
Really good for a first template. Just a few ideas: - The bars are a bit chunky, I would make them slimmer. - The author and date position might be a problem if the posts stay the same width. - I'd shrink the search icon and put it next to the text box, or inside it. - I'd get rid of the subscribe box text and put a letter icon in there.
Just reduce the all of the title bar's height and it'll look awesome. Also your top menu links font size looks a bit huge.
its nice but the two side bars are way to big. Make one side smaller a bit. You might want to move the logo a bit to the side so its centered in the middle
Ive changed it around a little bit: made the text along the top smaller, the bars and text smaller at the top of the boxes, but I've left the 'recent posts' box as it is, coz it looks better this way than if I make it smaller... Ive also made the boxes along the side narrower. Comments please Simon -----------
An injection of colour never did anyone any harm. I would still say that the text in the top menu is FAR to large, is there any need to it to be this big? I HATE the reflection of the text in your logo, I admit I dislike this affect on most sites, and yours has been implemented especially badly. There is no reason for it to stay. Also on the "logo", I don't like the stock silhouette of the people near the header. They look out of place. They also don't look real, some of them appear to have no arms, as if you have done some dodgy photoshop work on them. I would also make the categories, recent post and search bar line up, the don't look right at the moment. The text used for the headers is also a little large there. On the flip side, the text that you have used is VERY small and bunched up. I would increase the spacing on this and probably up the size a notch or two. Those cheesy smiling photo's are also tacky, but I suppose they are just placeholders for the moment so I will leave them alone. There doesn't seem to be much continuity between your "enter" and "search now" buttons. If I were you I would spend a little time creating a button (not just some bold text) I would think that would add a lot to the design. I may also be looking at changing the "Read more" to that button. Do not get me wrong, this is a GOOD design for a first go, it beats the hell out of whatever I created. In fact, I am no designer, this is probably as good as anything I would create. Please don't take my criticism to heart, I just thought I would express my opinion. Nothing. I don't think you would be able to find a buyer, coded or uncoded. Nick
I think you must reduce left n right side size,n give more size for banner .good work.two thumbs for u .:d
looks pretty good I have to say. Examples of what rollovers you could put on the links would be a nice addition.
The navigation bar text seems kind of big to me. I think you should also add some color. Otherwise it looks great.
