Joomla Question Regarding Lowering Resources

Discussion in 'Joomla' started by micksss, Jul 14, 2008.

    I was wondering if any experienced Joomla admins here could recommend tricks on lowering the amount of hosting resources it uses. My new site http://www.altermyenergy.com loads slowly IMO. I enabled caching today but that's the only thing I could find.

    Thanks for your help :)

    Yeah,its because you must have activated cache for all the modules and components as well.
    And if you are using J 1.5,then try cleaning it time to time..
    Goodluck..

    Do you know of any way to give access to a "non admin" publisher to create new articles in Joomla? Also has anyone heard of a way to do mobile blogging with Joomla? Thanks!

    Thanks bnandika :) I have set them to be a Publisher but I don't see where they can submit a new article when they are signed in... Only edit articles that have already been published.

    You should make section menu to see the article

    from the backend login as administrator

    Menus -> User Menu -> New (+) -> Articles -> Section Layout

    Let say the menu is to list News section, than set all as default except

    Access Level : Special
    Parameter - Basic : Section select News

    If the publisher login in the frontend, he can see all articles in News section, and publish the unpublished articles.

    If you want to list another section than make a new menu as above.

    Hope this help
