    Im not too sure about 'visibility:hidden' but i know that Google doesn't like 'display: none' so with them being pretty much the same thing im sure they wont be too happy about it ... although i could be wrong ;)

    depends on the amount of your hidden text, and the position.. if it looks like menu, should be ok.

    Well, it can be dangerous if you put massive hidden content (be it links or text or image)
