I am getting spam in PM very frequently by new members.

I hope these suggestions if implemented by DP can help reduce them

    1. Minimum posts requirement (of 5 or 10) for new members to be able to use PM

    2. A Report Spam button in member's PM area.

    Any others ideas ?

Put the spam users name out in the forums, than you get all the DP users to spam the noobie with senseless dribble about cialis.

I have seen some other forums running on Vbulletin with such features so I though probably it would be useful here.

I guess first option would be great for new users but it might not be ok when comes to BST section, then new members has to PM to make deal. So it will not be helpful to honest BST users. We need to forward PM to Mod.

    Yeah, we could only hope.
I just got a spam in from gudnrdip
Just joined-no posts-sending spam through PM

Yeah, the idea of a "report spam" feature on the email may help make it easier for the mods to find these jerk wads and ban their account.
Admittedly they will probably just make another tomorrow but every little bit helps.

I see a lot of new thread created here trying to report spam. Maybe a 'Report spam' sticky thread here would be useful. It would prevent more threads thus cleaner forum and less work for mods.

That is quite a pointless exercise because in most cases the spammer will just provide a link to some affiliate or some nonsense and may never return back to the forum. It will just result in consumption of more resources of the DP server when several members start spamming back.

could you disable the e-mail notification feature? I'm on the brink of blacklisting your site.

    1. Suggested and rejected multiple times.

    2. To report spam, forward it to a moderator.

A report spam sticky is not an option. Mods don't act on PM spam complaints unless they're physically forwarded.

    Look in your usercp options.
