I'll pile on with a "me too" view of that as spam. Now, many blogs are "abandon", and so no one really around to care much about the spam, but I suspect that those kinds of blogs are likely to not add much link juice.

I get many many many comments like that. In fact, all of them recently, which is why I use moderation.

Now, I have used blog comments as a way to build links, but I only target blogs where I can add a comment of value, which ensures that I would pass any reasonable moderation. The problem with that is that I can't do more than two or three per day, let alone 300.

my two cents, recently devalued to one cent.
Who can blame bloggers who have gone to do follow when they complain about spam, spammers who are just trying to get back links, etc....?
While we all, I thought, know that back links are absolutely necessary I don't comment unless I have something to add- improve, inform, discuss or otherwise leave the place a tiny bit better than when I arrived. If the moderator feels it is of sufficient quality to allow the comment then good. If not, I have the same approach on the next blog. Bloggers want traffic too and like all of us quality traffic beats looky loos or worse yet spammers. I think by the response to this post this community votes against spammy.

With so many links, and your site is still at 3 million something Alexa ranking. I would better spend my time developing real links. There are lots of places to post your links. I find places by going to my closest competitor and seeing who links to them. Many times, I find sites also willing to link to me.

spam is not a good way to promote a site. it may actually hurt your reputation, and many of your backlinks may get denied or removed. submit quality comments to blogs, and you will get some love!

Look I didn't say you had to spam, You can make a relevant comment to the blog's topic or idea. That will attract even more people to your site because I know when I read a good comment I tend to click on the persons name to get to their site.

This type of commenting is useful only if you need targetted traffic.

So you spammed other blogs by copy pasting comments ?

Try something more ethical and more beneficial like article submission / viral marketing etc etc .

Those links will not be of much help in bringing you traffic .

I agree with you, it is so obvious when someone is spamming blogs, and the comments have to be relevant for Google to pick these up to increase your PR etc but if you are putting almost the same comments on each blog it will make absolutely no difference, plus they have to be 'do follow' too so you will probably find that most of them are 'no follow'!

I wouldn't really reccomend this method!

Can we put in a request to a mod to pull this thread as it's encouraging bad behaviour?

Hopefully libertygone is just taking the michael...

I'll just confirm what all the sensible people on here are saying: If you're going to leave a comment, make it relevant and valid. 1 good comment is more effective that 100 meanlingless backlinks.

    Agreed.

I reckon I can smell comment spam a mile off, doesn't do the spammer or his site any good whatsoever, not in my eyes anyway.

Unfortunately there's no shortcuts to gaining quality backlinks, or else everyone would be comment spamming. Slow and steady wins the race, cliched but true......

I get these types of comments on my blogs every once and awhile. I always just delete them as they are obviously spam. Most blog owners can tell if your comment is really useful or if you actually read the post. Besides, most blogs on Blogger and Wordpress are NoFollow.

My guess is that most of these are from no follow blogs. Also I really annoys me when people spam with messages like, i agree. All the hard work that someone has put into their site and all you can write is "I agree"

Gaining a large number of links in a short time looks very suspicious to G. Gaining 300+ in 24 hours screams "SPAMMER".

this is a spamming action. also, u can easily use a software to achieve this.... there is no need to do it manually.
