Ever since its creation, microsoft has released dozens of products to the market what do you think is the best one?

For me its definetly Windows XP,while the worst has to be either the xbox 360(hardware failures sigh...) or vista(why do i need this extravagance)

Clearly the XBox 360. Which yet again proves that when their is competition, Microsoft CAN produce a quality product, however when no one is really competing for market shares, they can produce crap and people still buy it ;)

I would say it is Microsoft Office 2007. They basically secured the entire Office market to themselves. Despite the emergence of open source free office software like Open Office, they seemed to be so dominant in that particularly segment that is almost invincible.

Had an extremely hard time urging my friends and colleagues to use Open Office even though it is free. They would rather pay for Microsoft Office 2007 gladly........

I don't know if I'd consider that to be what's "best". Microsoft (and now Adobe) intentionally give out lots of cheap/free licenses to Universities, and you can buy it from almost any school bookstore for about $35 for the FULL enterprise edition with literally everything you can think of. They're pushing for college students to learn it and be trained on it, so when it comes time for them to leave school and have to purchase products at full price, they're so used to Windows and MS Office that they don't want to take the time to learn anything else.

I'd have to say the best product I've purchased from Microsoft would be the Zune. Very awesome product, no problems, and very easy to use.

And although I fully agree with the frustration of all the problems the 360 has had, that is one of my favorite products as well....

I think it has to be Age of Empires, Windows Vista, and Office 2007.

True but there is easy access to Open Office nowadays, free is better than $35. But students would rather pay $35 for Microsoft Office Student Edition.

XP and Office 2003 are my favorites. Worst product for me was a Microsoft wireless mouse I purchased. Shelved it and replaced with a logitech.

Did you ever try Windows 2000? It's more or less the foundation of Windows XP, but it was hella stable. Ironic that their worst (Windows ME) and they're best (Windows 2000) came out in the same year. ME was the home edition, and 2000 was the business edition, but was hands down the most stable OS they've written in the last 15 years.

1 MS product that I use frequesntly since I travel all over north america is "Streets & Trips" it has been a life saver and time saver when on the road, although with all the new navigation systems on the market it will slowly get left behind

Honesty I loved office 2000, but I have Vista now. It is nice once you get used to the differences. It took me awhile to find all the features. But I love it now, it does still have some problems that pop up every now and then but they fix them quickly.

Yes, the Xbox 360 has so many hardware issues but I still use it, I say Windows XP as well for the sole purpose that it launches any software and Vista dosen't.

Personally, I believe that the Microsoft's Best Product ever is Excel. It's the only MS software that actually works the right way. The rest of MS products are filled up with bugs.
