What are risks of adding these links to my site?

I received an offer to add 5 links with brief descriptions to 5 articles and posts on one of my sites. The links would be going onto older pages that only SE spiders are likely to see.

The site is like a third-stringer site for me and not a priority and the offer is pretty good I think ($100 for all 5). (Note: The site is NOT in my sig)

My concern is the topics in the links is technology and the site and content on it is about parenting.

Should I take the money and add the links or keep the site more virgin-like for possible long term value with search engines and more relevant link buyers?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts...

    1. links from your page to his articles or from his page to your articles?

    2. what pr is the website you're linking from

    3. is the content relevant to the links descriptions or no?

1 - Links from my articles to different sections of his site. His links are embedded in short paragraphs of techie content. He has about 3 links per paragraph worth of content. His desired anchor text are part numbers that are meaningful to someone searching for very specific part numbers. So his links, anchors, and content aren't negative in any way (gambling, adult, slimy)..., they just have nothing at all to do with my content or audience (mothers).

2 - PR2 homepage and pages he wants to be on are PR0. Site is several years old and was PR3 before I made some dramatic changes. It should be PR3 soon and with a little effort could be back up to PR4.

3 - His content IS relevant to HIS links. Just not to mine.

    Thanks again!

So he wants an unrelated article on your homepage? If this is the case, don't do it.

    Here are some general considerations:
    1. Don't link to a spam site. As Matt Cutts said, you want to keep your site out of "bad neighborhoods."
    2. Do the sites you would link to have any relevance to your pages? If so, you probably are safe having the links. Even if not, the links still probably wouldn't hurt you (although this might be debatable).
    3. Will you make more than $100 on these pages later by not having the links? If not, you might as well take the $100 now.
