I am using namecheap and when I transfer domain to another account I see that they ask for password and the name of the account holder.
I am surprised because I think this is not secure.

If the account gets hacked and the password is known.

what can be done to increase security.
what domain transfer method does godaddy use. are they secure.
do you people know any secure domain registrars.

Are you doing domain transfer or domain pushing? Whenever you do the transfer you will need a security code known as EPP/Auth code. However, if you are pushing the domain in an another account at the same registrar then you can do it without auth code.

there are several ways to increase the security of your domain name:

    1. Please secure your domain by using an EPP / Transfer Code.
    2. Please LOCKED your domain
    3. Please hide your details. Some registrars offer "Privacy Protection" at a small amount of fees only.

    hope this helps
