Avatars! Everyone needs em! Be it for web forums such as Digitalpoint or AIM and other IM Clients. It's for this reason I've spent the last 3 days working on a new project. AvatarSearch.org is a fantastic new website using some unique technology to create and filter out avatars from the internet. Other formats are easy to archive with certain limitations, however avatars take a certain degree of filtration. Unlike most other search engines of this style, the site does not store database results which can lead to lots of poor avatars but rather uses APIs from around the web to combine the results together. It's really a fantastic website, and something I'm extremely proud of. It's taken over 30+ hours to code, and It's something you should take! The buyer will get full master legal rights to the script.

    Thanks MyTechieStuff,

Although I would not agree with being expensive! You get what you pay for. If I worked for minumum wage (UK) I would of got $350. Heh.

"Although I would not agree with being expensive!"

    Of course, you are right.

That was a feeble attempt at a joke, at 2-40 AM here in London!

I wish it was 1999 again and I was once again able to reject multi multi million Dollar offers for my sites.

Then, I could offer you what I paid our techies at that time!

never mind though, those times will be back again :)

Yes, lets hope the times return.. but if they do lets hope we can manage to keep it running without a bubble building.. and then collapsing!

"a bubble building.. and then collapsing.."

The "bubble" was built only, because of the global (and a bit greedy) investors and not because of the conceptualizers and the techies, who changed the world at that time for ever.

The technical innovations did not vanish when the "bubble" burst however.

They kept on growing through out the dot com disaster and well after that in to our time today.

As an example, I created the bookpricer back in 1997.

That was the first ever price comparison site, "focused on a single product".

I followed that soon after with the DVDpricer.

The price copmarison sites did not die with the dot com disastor, they grew and expanded in to all kind of directions.

Now of course, we have a huge number of price comparison sites, all over the world, all of them descended from the original innovations back then, when we had to create things like a special version of Sybase, operating on linux, so that we did not have to be slaves to then Oracle monopoly!

To be fair, I'm quite young at in 1997 I was not investing in the internet or even learning how to use the internet! I'm a newbie, and I just hope that this time around people think more when spending money. For example a site like AvatarSearch.org could of sold for upwards of a few thousand and now well, now $125! It's better for everyone when the gains or small but the risks are also small. But yes I do agree the internet got better after the burst, and even if another one did come, it would not harm the fundamentals of the internet. I understand this post most likely makes no sense, I keep trying to get to sleep but then I find myself opening my PHP editor again, dam me!
