Search engine ranking effects....

    Hi All

    I want to know that if i change the layout of the site which have already very good ranking.

    Will this effect the exist search engine ranking???

    If it is yes..

    Please also let me know what should i do that i can change my layout without effecting the ranking??

    If your previous websites layout is simple and pages in HTML ..........

    And you are making new websites layout in simple and in HTML so no problem.........

    no doubt you wud get some drops in ranking but after some time it wud recover. You just need seo efforts for this. It wud help you to regain ur position as soon as possible.............

    No actually it's part of SEO. But you cud do one thing if you are changing your site layout then you shud follow search engine guidelines what they like in site structure. And also try to keep your site structure more user frndly.

    Yes, there'll be an impact. What's the site in question? I can tell you what you'll have to do to ensure you don't have a negative impact in the rankings when you change the layout (and I don't mean general stuff that any DP member can pull out of a hat either - I'm talking about specifics).

    The most important thing you need to do is keep the page URLs the same (or redirect every one with a 301 redirect). In addition, don't change your page titles, page descriptions, etc. If all you're doing is changing the style (fonts, backgrounds, images, etc.) of your site, but not the substance (URLs, titles, descriptions, text) then you don't need to worry.

    I think there is slight changes on your ranking. You just continue to get more links to make your rankings back again.

    You can change the site layout without affecting the ranking by keeping keyword density & proximity same.
