I'm not sure what to do here: There's a .com domain name I'm wanting to buy. By the looks of it, nothing has ever been done with it since it was first registered in 2003. An alternative TLD is available, but as the .com expires next month, I'm tempted to wait. Do I get in touch with the owner to see if he plans to renew (and risk him renewing on the basis that there's somebody wanting to buy it), or do I wait and see if he lets it lapse, then buy it when it becomes available?
contact the person from whom u bought..... chk Whois for the domain name... and contact the person...
You can contact the owner whether he renewed the name or not, you'd eventually compensate him for his renewal on top of what he wants for the domain. But to be sure you'll be the one to grab that name, team with a big player such as snapnames.com or other and place a backorder. It would cost you about $60 and in the eventuality the domain is renewed by the current owner, the amount will stay on your account for a future attempt. Find a slight variation or even figure out something else, or find one with good features such as PR among the ones listed for sale, given the waiting time span. One of the above should apply. Make sure you are aware by the stats of a domain name, including redemption and others, sometimes it's not worth the wait. Good luck!
