They aren't but he copied the exact image I made. Every pixel was the same.
Not sure about other designers here, but I certainly don't like thieves that try to take credit for my work.

I agree with Nora, that was a blatant ripoff of the design.

    ok..
    Sorry Nora..
I didn't mean to steal your design so please don't call me thieve! i didn't take credit on your work.. in my button the color is a little different and the text isn't the same..he asked for 2.0 so usually the reflection is like yours.. that's it
i'm a long time in this forum and nobody called me thieve or any other way
i won't continue this anymore and sorry again Nora :)

I'm sorry you feel that way Nora but from what I saw the _only_ thing similar was the gloss, and rounded button.

um - it was however _exactly_ what the client asked for.

The font wasn't the same, and he posted a gradient before you had posted it.

Any hack can create a button like you did.

Now ask yourself *how* professional is it to call a person a theif for creating
such a simplistic button using a different font. In my very humble opinion
not very professional and If he had actually stolen something of merit I would
be all over him backing you up - but a glossy button..... That's petty.

    My image and his image:
    [IMG][IMG]

I'm sorry offiri0, it's a misunderstanding between the two of us, I don't think you're a thief I just said that in the moment when I read Tightwad's reply. I don't think you were trying to take credit, you just made the changes requested using my image. You were thinking in the interest of the contest holder that's all. :)

It's the idea behind it. Whether it's a stupid little button or a professional design, the idea behind it remains the same. I was requested to make changes to my design, instead he did so. I was just angry seeing his copy right after mine with the requested changes. I don't think he's a thief, I was angry when reading your reply and I'm sorry offiri0, I shouldn't have called you that. I'm not trying to turn this thread into an argument zone, I just wasn't comfortable seeing what he did but as far as I'm concerned it was a mistake and no harm was intended from his side.

I completely understand where you're coming from because I too make a design and see something similar soon after I post only to have that person reap the rewards for my concept.

But when I looked at the two images I really only saw the rounded button and gloss were similar - and upon further and closer examination you can see his color is different the gloss outline is slight off by mere pixels than yours is.

Yeah, I just noticed that. I don't blame him or anything but I just noticed too many things that were the same for it to be a misunderstanding, to me it looked like someone was trying to make the changes directed towards me before me to steal credit. I now know that wasn't the case but I just got a little irritated in the moment. Again really sorry for calling offri0 a thief, he isn't one. Hope I've repeated it enough times for everyone to finally get it :)

Glad the contest holder chose pkal's design though, it really stands out so congrats pkal. :D

In the time you spent arguing about this point, you could have earned about 100x more than the contest prize! lol
