I am not making jack....i get between 100-200 unique visitors a day but usually i make $0.00 per day. Here is my site: http://www.garberconsulting.net What am I doing wrong? cg
OK...let's start with the VERY first thing your visitor sees, right at the top, is an ad then, they see a moving header which makes ME dizzy Make your pictures smaller and your text larger. Also break up the text into multiple paragraphs. For stuff like this: We can take care of every step of developing your web site including: advising about and purchasing your domain name, creating your web site, hosting your web site, making sure your web site shows up in most of the major search engines on the Internet, etc. We can create online forms that will send you an email of the perspective client's information. Use bullets. Increase the text size on your tabs. I didn't even 'see' them in the first 4 looks at your site
If you want my honest opinion (I'm not trying to be mean, just truthful) 1) Your website looks extremely unprofessional, especially since it appears to be selling web development services. 2) Your content can be downright insulting to the user: Yeah wow, I totally want to work with someone who basically called me an idiot. Hint: The people you are insulting are exactly the people who would need your services. 3) What are you trying to do on this website? Sell web development services or run ads? In my opinion those two things are almost complete opposites. If you are a legitimate web design company attempting to get people to pay you to make websites, get the ads off, they are inappropriate and unprofessional. If your goal is to run ads, make a website that is information based, not service based. Again, not trying to be mean, and you can take this how you want. But if you want to make money you need to step up your game and make some better choices. This isn't as easy as register domain, throw together some random crap, put adsense on it, and profit. If it was, no one would be on here asking why they aren't making money.
OP, shame on you man! With that much traffic, you could do anything between $0 to $20. One of my sites would do $0.5 with that, another would do $20. Just link from that site to another new site that earns well, and you will start to earn well.
This is nothing new, but the main factors for earning good money with Adsense are... Lots of original content + natural visitors through search engine traffic
To qurve: I have been completed discouraged all afternoon because of your post. But to answer your question. I have been in business for a little over 5 years providing IT support and developing websites. The primary reason for the site is to provide a service but I need to make more money so I have been trying to figure this stuff out. By the way, the reason for the free web site comment was because after doing some google campaigns, the keyword finder kept pulling up 'free websites' meaning that was being typed in a lot. I was just trying to work that in...I removed it now though per your suggestion. cg
i was making jack also. such a big company with so many advertisers & they still pay jack! i now use ikojo & clicksor, they pay pretty consistently. i just got fed up with google!

I have no idea what you mean by, "throw together some random crap". THe stuff on my site are the services I have been providing for the last 5 years. What do you mean by random? In fact, I think one reason it is harder to make money on my site is because I am staying in the same niche because I am trying to run my business and hopefully make a little on the side rather than just tryihng to make money by running ads on anything and everything. Everything on my site is related to what I do. I use tools on the site for client machines, etc. I used to say the same thing you are saying about not putting ads on a web development service site but did you ever think that perhaps someone who wants a website wants a website so that they can have ads on their site? If so, ads on my site will be welcomed. If not, so what. When it comes down to it, the real world depends on me making more money. By the way, I am making money for the servces I am providing, just not with adsense. Let me see you sites so I can see how to do it better...what is the site you made? Its kind of funny, the only people more judgmental than religous folks are the web site pharisees. You seem to have quite a conviction about not putting ads on a web site develoment service web site but where is it written that a site can either be informational and have ads or service based on not have ads? Quite frankly, your post helped me very little, while the more mature posters in here gave me some great feedback that I can take and use.
And for the record, I made a little more than jack today. I made $.97. Thats higher than ever on a single day....Thanks all of you for the feedback and checking out of my site.
