I have never had a 1 either. I have always started out with a 2 or 3, after the 0, of course.

Depends on your backlinks, usually during the next Google quartery "visible" Pagerank update you'll see a value change. Sometimes it will go from PR N/A to PR0, it can happen. Remember, Pagerank is always changing behind the scenes, the visible value is past data from the last update.

It should not take you more than 1 update. Just get few links from few forums, and there you are ..But really, what will you do with PR1 ?

It depends on the backlinks. But me, I get PR3 or PR4 after 2 months of building links.

On my fashion blog, it got PR1 on first PR update and then skip to PR3 on its next PR update.

Most sites generally go straight to PR2 if you adopt a coherent link building strategy. I've written a basic guide for beginners who are new to creating backlinks it has a blogging focus but the strategies are equally useful for website owners the article is entitled Make Money Online Blogging
