Good people, what free shopping carts would you suggest I could use for my site?

    Cheers.

depending on your needs. If it needs to be part of a popular cms then I would
suggest say Virtuemart, if it's just a stand alone, how complex does it have to be?

Could be something like oscommerce, or something simple like maiian paypal cart.

Oscommerce is an non-compliant, totally inaccessible, unintuitive load of crap. Wait a week and use http://www.magentocommerce.com/ when the 1.1 release comes out. You simply can not even attempt to compare it with anything else.

hope that helps, I speak from experience, I am not trying to be an ass.

I recommend you Oscommerce, it has a lot of mods and extra features coded by the community and a very updated shipping and payment related mods, a really big community that helps for free in the forums, and its free.
