[OT] If Checkpagerank says VALID PR it isn't VALID always

    Hello fellow DP members

    There has been a flaw in the Checkpageranking.com algorithm recently. This is by far the most favorite tool for checking the validity.

    Starting a couple a days Check Pagerank has been showing a lot of cloaked/forged/fake PR domains as VALID. Please don't get carried away by this.

    Domain sellers are capitalizing this opportunity.

    STEPS to be done before buying.

    METHOD 1
    - Check for validity in different tools
    http://www.validrank.com
    http://digpagerank.com

    Don't rely on one tool.


    Example:

    Checkpagerank says VALID
    http://www.checkpageranking.com/index.php?name=buyappraisal.com&links=1

    In reality - FAKE
    http://www.validrank.com/report/buyappraisal.com
    http://www.digpagerank.com/index.php?url=www.buyappraisal.com&dc=18

    METHOD 2: This is even more reliable

    Go to Google.com
    Type info:domainname

    If the domain URL comes as the only result then it is valid.

    Example
    VALID
    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&suggon=0&q=info:forums.digitalpoint.com&btnG=Search

    FAKE
    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&suggon=0&q=info:buyappraisal.com&btnG=Search

    The Pagerank is cloaked from a different domain.

    METHOD 3

    Check the Google cache

    Type cache:domainname

    Example
    VALID

    http://72.14.235.104/search?hl=en&q=cache:techcrunch.com&btnG=Search

    FAKE

    http://72.14.235.104/search?hl=en&suggon=0&q=cache:buyappraisal.com&btnG=Search

    A different domain is cached.

    METHOD 4

    Use your common sense.
    If a seller gives a 1 month old domain with a valid PR5 then it ought to be dropped or fake.

    Check the back links and see if the PR of the domain is justified.

    Yeah, thats really matters
    always dont trust only one site related to Pagerank.
    i always check 2-3 sites for checking PR, and that CHACHE: and INFO: really helps

    http://www.validrank.com/ is FAKE or USELESS
    Its showing my PAGERANK as Suspicious PR
    We cannot determine the PR of this website.
    Not found in Google's Cache.

    and you can check it is present in Google cache and also check its Info:
    everything is OK (My Blog: www.orangmuda.com)

    Also check the site for GOOGLE.com and be ready for Shocking news, it shows Google .com has FAKE PR !! :D :eek:

    As of late, I'm finding a lot of PR6/5 domains that give other URLs on using 'info:link' on Google and checkpagerank says that PR are valid. duh ;) :)
