Revolution Theme Wordpress and IE

Discussion in 'HTML & Website Design' started by Maxman, Jul 2, 2008.

    I purchased the Revolution Pro theme and modified it. So far the support on the revolution forums is terrible. You have to get your account manually activated (still waiting) and they don't respond to emails.

    Anyhow I was hoping someone here had a similar problem and could offer help. My sidebar appears on the bottom and not on the right (2 column theme). This only happens in Internet Explorer, several versions. EVERY other browser seems fine.

    Here is a link to the site: http://72.21.51.211/

    Any thoughts? Thanks!

    I had the same issue with my Revolution theme.

    Talk to Paul from the Revolution Forums and he could sort it out.

    I haven't looked at your CSS (too many stylesheets plus I have a LOT of tabs open), but if you're floating that sidebar, try adding display: inline; to it - it may be a case of the double margin bug in IE.

    To be honest these Revolution Themes are really poorly coded. The quality is nowhere near the quality you could have if you hire an experienced coder.

    Regarding the theme you bought, add this to the end of the last css file:

    #wrap{width:auto;}
    #homepage{width:auto;}

    (whoever coded this premium theme must has never heard of hasLayout).

    Thank you so much. I just added that and it works now. Have other cleanup to do but I wasted so much time on this issue. I should have posted it here first.

    Revolution support forums have been no help so far. The scary part? The theme cost $80. Ouch. Why did I pay it? To avoid issues like the one I just had.

    Live and learn I guess. Thank you so much for the help though! Much appreciated.

    Wait until my free WordPress Theme Framework comes out - it's going to give Revolution and other premium WordPress Themes a clothesline from Hell before chokeslamming them into the ground. I'm putting the finishing touches on the framework now and even have a designer creating the look and feel of the main site for me. :cool:

    Hey I run a football site so I am a huge fan of the "clothesline from Hell".

    :D

    Thanks again.

    Phoar! I didn't know about the bugs in the Revolution Themes until I chance upon this thread. I was just thinking of purchasing it considering Bryan has been around for sometime and thought the theme must be good. :rolleyes:

    I suppose I'll wait until you've got something before sullying my mind with CMS, Dan.

    How is the beta 2 coming anyway? It had been on hold, but that was a few months ago...?

    Haven't updated it yet. I hired someone to handle the design for me (it's set me back $700), so once I get the design in, I'll code the template, update the content, and launch the site (sans-forum) with the Theme framework in "Release Candidate" status.

    $700?? You'd better get pure Beautious from that! Is this also for the MM site too or only WP stuff?

    Just for the WordPress Theme framework site itself - if the designer does a good job, I'm going to have her design the look and feel of the forum as well.

    (Maxman, sorry about Stomme poes and I steering the thread somewhat off-topic.)
