Please review my new comparison site - be kind but truthful

Hi All,
Have spent the last month building a new prepaid card comparison website - Prepaid365 - prepaid365.com and I am keen to get the views of all the wonderful people on this forum.

The site is mainly a comparison site which lists and reviews prepaid cards and provides a basic comparison of prepaid cards in the UK.

I would appreciate all and any comments you have on the site design, structure, functionality.

You guys are the gurus and this is my first venture - so please be kind in your criticism but thruthful with regards to how I can improved this.

First bit of advice: We have a reviews forum for these threads.

I looked in your source and you have a lot of keywords. I think you're supposed to limit it to 10-20 that are really important.

Other than that, I think it looks pretty good.

 

I like the site design, but there is too much text. I think the visitors are a bit overwhelmed. Remove some of the text and links and it will look a lot better.
I also like the red/blue contrast. Try to keep it balanced, a little bit more red to the right and a little bit more blue to the left will make the layout look more balanced.
Overall your design is nice, it could just use a little bit more tweaking.

Valuable feedback indeed. A bit caught between the site copy optimised and my natural instincts of let pictures do the talking. Build 2 is on the way - so we should be moving along shortly.

Had a look around and cannot find the site you were refferring to - so you were probably just raising your post count

 

if i was doing that to raise post count.. id just say .. yea good site or whatever.. i have seen EXACTALLY THE SAME SITE but in blue not red. And dont double post.

 

Double post? Did I miss something, or are you seeing something we are not?

If you have seen a similar site, content and layout, then let us know what the site is. It is only fair. Blatantly attacking a person without the goods to back up your statement is callous and could be constrewn as slander.

 

@andymayo - After viewing his source, I discovered that he is using a canned Html template that comes with Flash CS3 Professional. So you may have seen a site themed this way.

There are probably color variations on this theme as well. Say like, ummm, blue! But it is not stealing as you contended.

 

Whatever, but I liked the site. Especially the shade of red. And I noticed it is a little bit pinkish at the bottom Good choice

also i really dont give a crap weather he stole it or not.. i just think it looks shit when you see a site that looks exactally the same as another one.

also dodger.. if you have another point to make there is a button called 'edit' to click so it doesnt look like ur raising ur post count by double posting. And you can think im slanderous whenever u like i dont care tbh.

 

Thanks for clearing that up. Wasn't sure what you meant by that in the first place. My idea of double posting is starting a duplicate thread in another forum area.

Then you should of said that in the first place, rather than implying that it was total ripoff of similar site.

If it were me, I can take the criticism of having a shitty site. But if you were to imply that I stole the design (or content) from another shitty site ... then you better get a lawyer dude.
