I have a 4-month blog and continued link building. I am confused why my blog has not gain PR for months and yet, my squidoo lens of about 2 months old gained PR2. How can I gain PR for my blog?

The suggestions so far are all valid, but I suggest not worrying about your page rank. What is important is traffic and serps.

A couple other things to consider with regard to PR is how long you have secured your domain name for (is it registered for 1yr or 10?). What type of internal link structure are you using, because if you are looking to have a high pr for one page then you need to channel all the pr you can from your other pages. And, make sure that you have not accidentally linked to a site on google's naughty list.

Other than these I suggest a little more patience because your work will pay off in time.

Good luck and I hope you achieve a 10.

    Regards,

As far as i know Google updates it's page rank only 3-4 times a year (and not everytime he crawls your blog), so yours probably hasn't been in the last update yet.

Also remember the the google toolbar PR only updates about once every 4 months. So it may be a month or two before you see the results of the last few months effort.

I totally agree with you :)
You should have patience and have to build up your back links as many as you can.

    hey guys,
even m doing the little bit of SEO for my new blog healthpoints.info

what i figured in the mean time, apart from good external link building, inbound linking is very important.
NB: the external links should be done with blogs of higher PR.

Secondly, maintaining quality content and not keyword stuffed content, as google takes them as spam and the thumb rule: dont get the titles tooooo long... because google at times penalizes for the same..
one of my colleagues' blog got penalized for the same.. :)

P.S: u all are most welcome to drop in by my blog and leave a comment or two :p

page rank is meaningless....you can get a PR5 with one PR7 backlink. I would rather have a PR0 and rank well (and get targeted traffic) for my keywords.

I have one question about links: I've got a list of blog pages with high PR. Now, I know that a dofollow link from these comments adds some weight to my deeplinks but I've also read that Google is looking to treat blog comments like guest books i.e. they ain't worth sh**! Any views on this?

The only thing you can do is to keep building those links, and PR will follow.
