If a blog does not use a rel="NOFOLLOW" attribute on outgoing links then its a DOFOLLOW blog. Dofollow blogs pass the link juice to linked sites, which is good for SEO.
Hi I use "index, follow" on my wordpress` blog posts`meta is that good? i think we're asking the same thing..
To protect their PR, reputation. By having a blog (or any other website) that allows visitors to post links that are followed you risk your websites reputation in the eyes of Google. Most blogging platforms are NOFOLLOW by default. There are a number of places online where lists of DOFOLLOW blogs are kept, the end result is that most are heavily spammed.
Doesn't matter, view the source of a blog post with a comment and see if the nofollow attribute is in the hyperlink syntax, it would supersied the meta element.
Depends on you. Most blogs use nofollow because they don't want to be attacked by spam comments that just want some backlinks to their site. Dofollow blogs are heavily preyed upon by those who want backlinks, you see. If you're okay with this and if you can manage spam comments, then there is no problem with using dofollow tags.
if you use the Firefox browser there are cool plugins you can install that will automatically highlight NoFollow links in red on any webpage you're on, so it makes it really easy and fast to determine if a site you are looking at is DoFollow or noFollow the plugin i use for this is called SEO for Firefox
Dofollow blogs are blogs that let you get dofollow backlinks from your blog comments. They're quite useful for link building and if you're looking for more resources about them, I've outlined some techniques to get high pagerank dofollow backlinks in a post.
