    Dude you talking crap..

More time? It makes no differences if it wasn't going to be retired.. since it's already (here)?

The Google referalls will be retired, but they gonna use a product from doubleclick for referals.

This does not effect the normal text and image adsense links. :)

I think Google have taken note they are by far and away the market leader, so feel they no longer need to pay for Google Product signups.
People will now come to them based on the reputation of Google, rather than Google needing to go shopping for users.

I think they have written on their blog, "For us based users we have double click... " Now what does that mean... double click referrals would only relate to US based visitors?

I didn't earn much with the referrals and so the impact of retiring referrals will be minimal.

AdSense referrals is a bad idea and I have never understood why Google wanted to cannibalize on the PPC market. I for one am happy they are killing off this 'worthless' part of AdSense.

Worthless nothing! Referrals were a good 30% of my adsense income and I see the program I'm using has already been taken off Adsense. I mean, this advertiser is working on every affiliate program I've ever seen, but Google had a convenient way to set up those banners quickly and without a lot of applications and hassles. Now I need to go sign up actual applications and have someone digging through my site trying to find faults - not exactly my idea of a fun time

Referrals got 50% of the earnings for a friend of mine. Yes, one AdWords referral made around $45 for him, and ever since he let me log into his account as proof, I have been using referrals! Now this.....how official is this?

You know something big sites who use adsense don't use referrals and personally I have never seen any popular site use referral!! I only see adsense referrals on blogspot which are filled with ads and very little to no content.
