Help in stopping a website using our script illegally

Hello All.

We sell script online. A website is using our script illegally online.
We contacted the hosting company which is hosting that site and filed a complaint with them (saying the website should be stopped for using our script illegally).

They replied:

Can someone please help in decipher the paragraph above? I went to www.copyright.gov to find a form of notice that can be filled but could not find it.
Please help.

I think they are asking for an official DMCA notice. You need to be able to prove you own the other site and the scripts to prevent some random person from sending out fraudulent shutdown notices.

 

It definitely sounds like they want an official DMCA notice. If you google it, you'll find a lot of information online. This post has some good tips:

In the United States, your attorney could send a "cease and desist" letter, which is the first step to getting them to stop violating your intellectual property rights.
