Submitting your link to other site is backlink creation. The more backlink the more PR you will have. But, submitting to one PR8 site is better than submitting to hundred PR0 site. Get the big picture?

I've never been a fan of Pagerank, it's caused grief for many a website, and laid the foundation for yet more crap MFA & link seller directories.

Besides, Google will just devalue any effort put in to those that engage in this practise. Going the directory route to sell links via pagerank is so pointless - Google is watching you :D

I agree with you but PR 2 is also a high PR then submitting into PR 2 and above will not be beneficial?

I find that high PR directories are mostly paid and if they are free take lot of time in reviewing your site.

PR is something that has little or no value in e-commerce as there is not many business's that would be prepared to backlink to competition which is pretty much the idea behind Google's wanting to improve the web. Many very high quality sites have little or no PR and sites with absolutely rubbish content with high PR. It can be useful in other areas of the web though but not in e-commerce.

Links from high PR pages are much less subject to dilution due to the other outbound links on the linking page. You can look at the number of outgoing links as the number of "holes in the water bucket."

Don't worry too much about PR. Instead you should be looking for links from relevant directories. Niche directories are the first place to start. Then go on to the general directories that have categories for your niche. Find one of the many directory lists out there and add your site to some of them every day. You'll be happy with the results in 6 months.
