Do submissions to directories actually get reviewed?

I run a directory/search engine and I always check my submissions. The integrity of the database depends on good moderation. I highly suggest you don't "autopilot" your submissions.

Excellent examples DownUnder, and ones that allow me to counter. The first one is to a brothel in Australia where, and I quote...

I am over 18 but chose NOT to go into the website as its offensive, in the UK and many other Countries brothels are NOT legal and this is where the internet falls flat on its face. It doesn't take into account what is legal in one country might not be in another, and this is why search engine results are so bad. And there is no way in this world can you seriously tell me brothels could be considered family friendly?

The other link you gave was bound to lead to porn and the XXX videos and without hesitation you thought that justified adding content to a directory and still call it family friendly, just because another company (a big one at that) does? If they can do that it has to be alight doesn't it? NO. That's absolute nonsense and perhaps your just not seeing it?

Look at the XXX on that site you linked to, it openly advertised videos on ILLEGAL SEX, certainly illegal in the UK, and also in many states within your Country. most of the World actually. It begins with A and ends in L and is sex.

Your seriously trying to tell me that your argument that ANY resource that allows access to that kind of illegal material is right? Worse, your saying that if its acceptable in places like Yell then it must be family safe? If Yell were to know they inadvertently offer access to illegal products like that I wonder if they'd pull them? I wouldn't be surprised. Or maybe they may just be opening themselves to negative marketing campaign stating what they allow in their directories, which could cost them millions? After all, who would want to associate with illegal content? Trust me, it would only take a few to take a stand against this kind of advertising for the rest to follow.

You gave me these arguments as examples of what might be deemed as family friendly DownUnder, I'm sorry but your argument falls flat on its face as well intentioned as it was.

Good debate though, and you use your words. "All's good!" :)

BTW; Before I get yet another neg rep for standing up for cleaning the internet a little, just do your research before jumping in. I have, and am as liberal as the next person. There is a place for everything as long as everything is in its place, and that place isn't family friendly directories which is all I'm saying.

I got far more green than I did red and from the higher level members here, the idiot who left the red, well it was actually grey. Business is full of disagreements, its how we deal with them that counts, and this discussion has been one of the better ones on here for ages regardless of who's right to wrong.
