https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865 559,210 downloads weekly. What is the future of adsense publishers ? Comments ?
I dont think it will effect earnings too much, firefox still only has around 20% market share, so worst case earnings could drop by that.
This has been around for awhile, personally I am not too concerned. Having tried using the plugin I found I spent more time blocking all the ads on a page than actually reading the content, which made the ad blocker more annoying than the ads.
There are similar plug-ins for IE too. e.g. http://www.ie7pro.com/ However, it may take a few years before these ad-blocking tools becomes popular.
Those who block the ads are already ad blind, they just do it for the pleasure of not being bothered anymore. Peace,
anyway those who use ad blockers use it because they never click ads. A problem will be when this add-on will go by default with firefox or IE. But the problem is why ad blockers are used, because those flashy banners on the whole page, claiming that you are the 999 999 999 999 999 999 visitor, and you need to click to get your prize. But we must agree that google adsense ads are low quality, so why the users to bother to see them ? Now they all want quality, they are sick of tv advertising interrupting their movies, adsense ads interrupting their reading, low quality ads. They want quality. How they will know that it is quality ? It was recommended by a friend, there are hundreds of positive reviews on other websites. We must provide them quality. If you have a blog, get ride of those adsense ads which paying you 2-3 cents per click, and do some reviews, try to be on topic, targeted.
I think its god program for adsense publishers .. just add your own adsense pub-id link and your own ads will be off from your browser.. so u'll never accidentally click on your ads... It is very helpful program for site developers who can work with site without removing ads and keeps on refreshing and checking pages after every code modification without increasing their ads impression.
