Would you still use Yahoo if they were bought out by Microsoft?

My answer is no. Last thing I need is my search engine crashing on me, Vista is bad enough. What do you guys think?

 

I can see a lot of issues with Yahoo if they were bought by Microsoft, so I have to agree, no.

 

MicroSoft bought my mail, it has sucked, since. I'm tired of MS screwing up my favorite things. I have OpenOffice, a box with Solaris and I don't care if MicroSoft rules the world.

SUN gives stuff for free. Sun boxes have only succumbed to serious lightning, (killed a power supply and scorched my socket 7) in my experience. My box still ran, the MB was flakey. Unix was steady.

Why does MS rule the world? Unix is steady, pretty, more secure and easy.

I want to run my network on Unix! I'm sick-to-death of MicroSoft!

 

Yahoo and MSN are both so small compared to the likes of Google that it doesn't really matter if MS bought Yahoo or not.

 

Why not? Microsoft is not THAT bad or evil. Google does need some more competition.

 

I have to agree, if Microsoft bought Yahoo I would really hope that it does well, so it can compete against Google.

I doubt that it will, though.

Actually I use Google, instead of Yahoo, just because I like the results better. But I would love it if Yahoo became as big as G.

Does anyone use Yahoo for search anyways, I use yahoo for Sports, Finance, and Movies info and google for search. I would still use them for the same thing if they were owned by Microsoft

 

I don't really use Yahoo anyways. The most useful thing it has is Yahoo! Answers, so it wouldn't really affect me.

 

Yes, of course. Google is a monopoly and if they decide to one day make every one pay for searching.. we'd be screwed. I like having a choice.. always having a choice.

 

I guess it depends on how much microsoft would change yahoo. If I feel that it is less usable like the previous version, I might just stop using it.

As long as Yahoo continue to pay me to use their search engine I'll use them whoever runs the shop.
