How to maintain SE rank position?

Yeah! My question is how to maintain my SERP. I was able to get the top rank of a certain keyword. But after some months, I went back to the 2nd page. Any tips how can I maintain my SERP? Do i need to contine link building or is there any other trick?

 

When you got ranking then be alert of your competitor watch regularly on there websites, and you have to update your site and add fresh content as well, continue your work as you did

You need to do everything you were doing to get to the top ranking position and more. As your competitors will realise that you have taken over their place if its a decent keyword which it should be anyways, to actually bother with optimising for the first page they will be keen to take over you.

So therefore you will need to put more work in than usual to keep that first page ranking, add content double more than you used to so if you used to add content every 4 days add it every 2 days. Target strong backlinks which are both relevant to your website and very reputable.

I will go with you but only content won't help.
Backlinks are also important so you should keep them building.
I will advise you to build backlinks slowly and try to get only strong backlinks.
Also don't expect results to be fast.
Just keep building content and backlinks and the keyword is yours
Better it take 4-5 months but after that you will own the keyword for 1-2 month (This is just prediction not a guarantee).

SEO is an continuous process and need maintenance so better to do off page optimization regularly.

To maintain your position on a particular keyword requires continuous off page. make sure all pages of your website are being crawled regularly, keep an eye on your competitors and their positions, back links and keep continuing off page work. This is a kind of maintenance work.

 

You can build more backlinks with targeted keywords as anchor text.

 

Keep adding new and relevant content regularly and keep an eye on the competition.
