    I put in two of my websites, and it didn't persuade me - my forecast would be just the opposite - the site they predicted to go up will stay where it is, and the site they predicted to stay will go up (was included in dmoz and worked on a bit during last few days perhaps weeks).

    Nobody can predict PageRank. RustyBricks tool has been around for a long time. I'm surprised he hasn't withdrawn it. It is totally bogus.

    Hell you can't even predict when Google is going to do a backlink or PR upgrade. There just isn't any reliable data available to predict future PRs. The other factor is nobody knows for sure how PR is calculated. And the methods of calculation may be changing on an ongoing basis.

    Don't waste your time with this stupid tool!

    at least rusty brick can poke fun at it....

    my worst site shows it will go from 4 to 9 - there's no way unless PR was based on the reverse of what we know of it now. less backlinks - higher PR LOL

    www.iwebtool.com I have noticed offers 2 ways of checking your future pr
    1. www.iwebtool.com/www.yourdomain.com
    2. www.iwebtool.com/pagerank_prediction

    Option 1 uses older more stable datacenters
    Option 2 tends to use the ones that update more frequently

    Something to be aware of if your checking future pr for a future purchase.

    Some time ago, I programmed my own PR prediction tool, mainly for my own purposes, so it is a little bit more biased than most of the others:

    http://www.optimized.ws/sad-webmaster.html

    but nevertheless, the results are motivating for me.

    "Results: Your current Google PageRank is 4. Based on our calculations, we predict your future PageRank after the next Google update will be 4, an increase of 10.24%. "

    ...says it all for me, right there.

    Just IMHO: in their internal calculations they are working with something close to Google pagerank, yet they are displaying Google Toolbar Pagerank for us. You can have rather low PR4 which is near PR3, and rather high PR4 which is near PR5, and there is a big difference between those two, yet they are both PR4. That's where I would guess the 10% increase is coming from.

    Anyway, it is confusing, they shall make an explanation to it.

    yes that's true. the pagerank is a logarithmic function from 1 to 10, that means from 1 to 1000000000.

    1 = 1
    10 = 2
    100 = 3
    1000 = 4
    10000 = 5

    so it's possible if you have near 3 (say 1021) or near 5 (say 9805), this is more than 10% difference :) i don't know anything about rounding the numbers, but this is the main thing about pagerank :)

    How does these prediction things work then?
    On the basis of google backlinks??
    Do they take into consideration PR values from a certain site "pour" into the linked site?

    Just curious.

    Most probably by backlinks i am guessing.

    And for gods sake do not use http://www.rustybrick.com/pagerank-prediction.php? for prediction its the worse out there, it kept predicting during last update my sites rank as 0 , even after update took place too lol.
