Have you ever been on a website and clicked adsense ad to help the owner out?

I was just wondering, sometimes when I go on a website, and see an adsense unit I just sometimes click it randomly and then browse the site it takes me to. for a little while. I think why not, its helping out the owner and Id know I want people clicking my ads. Im not talking about click bombing and clicking your own ads etc..

So anyone else do this? Or is it just me :p

I consider it immoral. You're robbing a companies money if you are not truly interested.

Help an Adsense Publisher and hurt an Adwords Publisher.

I only click if I'm interested in the ad...

Lol guess so. Yeh but I click it and I do actually take a look around the website it takes me to, granted I have not found any that interest me but you never know!

I think it's generally right to only click the advert if what it says interests you. It affects quite a few people clicking if you don't want what they are offering.

    Just my two cents. :)

I don't do it either unless I am interested in the advertisement.

    obviously not!!
But if you think about it google isn't going to find out that you clicked it because you wanted to help out the owner.

I only click if the ads interest me.

I only click ads that are interesting to me, otherwise, I just click by mistake.

I never click on AdSense ads. Even if I'm interested I copy and paste the url to the site.

By "helping the publisher" you're hurting the advertiser. Less advertisers = less money.

The ones here that would like to say "yes" never will out of fear of ridicule. It's like asking a guy if he would shoot his own dog for a million bucks. He will tell you "no!", but hand him the million and you will be eating stew in an hour.

Yeap I did it when Adsense just started and a friend ask me to help out. Though I haven't done it after that. It is not very ethical, I won't encourage anyone doing it, to help a friend or not.

As a publisher, it is better to stick to the "never click any ads" rule, unless you're really shopping for something.
