Does DP Violate the Policies of Adsense?

Discussion in 'Guidelines / Compliance' started by rebelagent, Jun 20, 2008.

I recently took to reading the policies written by Google Adsense.

    https://www.google.com/adsense/supp...&sourceid=aso&subid=ww-ww-et-asui&medium=link

Why am I asking this stupid question?
Because we have adult content sections
    "Pornography, adult, or mature content"

And I don't think anyone technically advertises that if they're linked to high pr site they get higher pr but a lot of people advertise pr in their link/blog sales
'Deceptive or manipulative content or construction to improve your site's search engine ranking, e.g., your site's PageRank'

In the freebies section tons of people advertise ptc ptr pts programs
'Content regarding programs which compensate users for clicking on ads or offers, performing searches, surfing websites, or reading emails'

Are we in violations of the google policies?

In case of the Adult section, then it is a violation, just another reason why I don't use my Adsense on DP.

Concerning the freebie section, it is OK, unless topics contain distribution of copyrighted material, which if reported should be remove ASAP.

    Peace,

I have read in a few blog about DP being a bad neighborhood. But common sense tells me they would not allow adsense if his were true.

I think DP is too large a publisher for Adsense to ban. Imagine the number of adverts you get from DP. Maybe for a small publisher they would have banned a long time ago but not DP.

Thanks Guys. I have my own theories but I feel they're offensive. Doesn't really matter though... I guess. I mean I've see sites that violate every policy of google get accepted a few times. I never went back to check if they're still allowed to display adsense though.

I use an ad blocker so im not sure where all the ads show up, but if they are being shown on pages like login.php and search.php then this would be another violation of the TOS.

However, many many forums use adsense on those pages it seems Google maybe a little lenient in the matter for a few pages

I wish they were as lenient about policies and forums as they were about warnings and banning.
Just sucks for people like me who thought everything was fine until they tried to cash out. I even contacted them 3 times and I got no reply other than automated. :(
They said fraudulent clicks but I'm pretty sure I only ever clicked about 3 times because a user told there was a virus link or something stupid. Like a noob i clicked my own ad.

Anyways I wonder if that has ever happened on here. Someone has A+ sites then they try to cash out and google says no because of a fraud click. I mean I don't even know if its possible for your own ad code to show up while you're browsing but yeah... Did anyone follow that? lol.

This is very interesting! As I'm a newbie to this I find your last comment especially enlightening. I've been reading the rules, tons of rules, and find them somewhat confusing. Others experiences really help! Even at my "advanced" age it's never too late. Please keep writing, I'll keep reading/learning.

DP is one of the largest sites using Adsense. They won't ban for petty things like that..

I know it's sad :(. I wonder if I can take a situation like this to a local news station lol. Wonder if it'd be a good blurb.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. They banned the owner of another big forum and confiscated $20K+ in earnings. He was also an Adwords customer spending over $20K per month on them and they banned his Adwords account as well.

oh, and as far as the revenue share here at DP, I made almost $4 today !!!

DigitalPoint doesn't violate the policies of AdSense. The forum is well known, provides value for its visitors and it's the perfect example of a great AdSense Publisher.

How does it not violate the policies?
    https://www.google.com/adsense/supp...&sourceid=aso&subid=ww-ww-et-asui&medium=link
Unless there's a twist to the policy that I don't quite understand?
And just because it's well known doesn't mean that it automatically doesn't violate the policy lol. Or the fact that it's an ad revenue sharing forum. Sorry for seeming a but 'mean' just wanted to get more than what you had stated.
