I use AntiVir for over 2 years now, I used Norton, Kaspersky, BitDefenter, RAV, NOD32, AVG and others. I can say AntiVir suits me the best, it doesn't slow my computer, and in this period of time (2 years) I haven't been infected with any virus.
Before I started to use AntiVir I was using NOD32 and my computer was infected by a virus that NOD32 had no clue about it. I discovered the virus myself and deleted from the system. Although, the virus copied himself in some applications and provoked serious crashes that made me install the OS again and think about a new antivirus :D

    Awesome little program!

    just google "avast"

Nowhere near as much of a pain in the behind as thie big guys. Free software - you just have to register - and extremely HAPPY with it... after ditching Norton and MacAffeee... way too annoying those ones...

I use McAfee only because I get it free from Scottrade.

Before the McAfee I used AVG for several years.

I hate Norton and all Norton products.

I suggest you get the new Eset Smart Security. It's very lightweight and it's from the same people who made Nod32.

norton is a ram hog unless you have a lot

personally bitdefender is pretty good and does the job for me and its not huge so it doesnt take up space and ram even though i have 2 500gb hd and 4 gb of ram
