Freelink4u has been using a stolen credit card - I'll explain all.

You pay them $25..$50...or whatever they are charging for a 'guaranteed listing' in the Yahoo directory.

This money moves from your own Paypal account to his personal Paypal account.

He uses the stolen credit card to make the payment to Yahoo, which flags your submission as being 'paid' on their system.

You then get listed after they review your site.

Then the fraudster cancels the payment, meaning Yahoo get nothing and 'hopefully' your site won't be delisted as they may not have noticed, or some other similar reason - presumably it's because Yahoo aren't going back to double check.

But, when they do go back and check the records, your site will be removed, blacklisted, and you'll never ever ever get listed ever again in the Yahoo directory, even if you pay them the money directly.

How do I know this? A short phone call to them this morning.

File a fraud report to Paypal immediately.

Did you mean all such a kind of Yahoo services, including this one using the same method as you described?

freelink4u, I need your explanation about this asap, otherwise I will contact paypal about this.

I would say it is most likely. The person I spoke to from Yahoo confirmed the following, and even referenced these as "dirty magic techniques":

    - Submit to a Regional category, for any site can be included as there is no set terminology that only non-profit sites can be listed in regional sections. You can do this yourself, but these fraudsters will make you pay for a standard listing which you could have done if you studied the principles of the directory.

    - They'll use a stolen credit card, Yahoo approve the link, the card owner cancels the payment - and hopefully Yahoo slip up and don't remove your link.

Either way, Yahoo confirmed to me that your site will be blacklisted (as mine already has).

Thanks for your clarification. If I canceled these transactions and explain to Yahoo everything and tell them I would have my site listed under normal $299 condition. Would this help remove the ban on my site? or permanently ban?

I gave Yahoo a blabber story but they did say since it wasn't listed through official Yahoo representatives they have no choice but to refuse future submissions, regardless if they are paid or free listings. If I were you I'd contact them immediately and explain to them what's happened and that you have also been duped, as have they.

Remember, the worst you can do is make a failed attempt;) Better to try than to get your site blacklisted by 'em.

Thanks :) I will try contact Yahoo first. Otherwise I will spend $299 on Business.com instead.

P.S. Do you have email address or link to contact form of Yahoo Directory services? I couldn't find it yet.

$25 is a very small price, but now that we've endured such a heavy penalty, I'll be ensuring we take the matter much further with you.

I too have filed a paypal dispute after my site initially showed up as a new Yahoo listing but quickly disappeared. Freelink4u is fighting it so it's going to come down to, if enough people did not get their sites listed and complain to paypal they will see a pattern. As I told Freelink4u I would drop my paypal dispute in a heartbeat if he can show me my site is listed. Even though it's more then a month later since I contracted/paid Freelink4u to get my site listed, he somehow feels he is justified in his actions and will not refund.

Could you care to explain? Why one of my 2 sites has been disappeared after listed for only a few days? You told me my site may be modified or remove to another category but this is almost 2 week now and I still couldn't find my site in Yahoo directory. If they just update category then my site should be found for now and shouldn't take so long for any update. You told me they might have 3-4 weeks for respond questioned on update and that's surprised me. While another one still being listed, I'm not sure when it will be removed in a soon or not. Is one of my site got blacklisted already?

    I warned you all didn't I ?

No one on earth even a friend of the ceo has the ability to get your sites listed for 50$. You know why ? Because everything has it's price. I have money why didn't I buy a link from a user on digitalpoint that is only offering on some boards rather then opening a website and selling over the site. Cause he knows that opening a site is not a safe thing for him to this job.

I have warned you all none of you have listened to me.. I bet he has got 5000$ + or more from this listing method of his "OoOo" Your a guru. Lol. "free4link"

Just placed a dispute for one order of my site, which has been removed after listed for a while without any possible reason unless something fishy is going on.
