How is advertising on DP?

I have been thinking of advertising my site, StumbleCult here on DP.


What do you think is the best bet?

buying signatures, avatars and everything else....or try advertising thru google on-site ads?


Which will get me the best of ROI ? Thanks a ton for looking

I dint mean this kind of advertising ....I meant buying avatars and signatures. How much exposure can I expect from them? Or is it better that I bid with adwords on-site ads?

I'd definitely go with the signature and avatar thing. You can get them for quite cheap compared to Google ads, and since many people (specifically people on this forum) tend to visually block out Google ads, you'll probably get more hits in the long run.

 

Create an offer, freebie or incentive within your site. Doesn't have to be much. People can't resist something for free.

 

I might as well submit to directories for the backlinks, I am trying to get more signups and make the community active here

That is a valid point, I did not think of it this way, but how many people acctually look at the sigs and avatars?

buying signature is a good idea. you will get many back links in short time.

 

Signature links do work quite well especially on this forum however you need to ensure that the people your purchasiung of actually post, which you can see in their profile the average amount they post a day, also some people offer them at ridiculous prices make sure you cant just get a better deal from someone else.

 

I can honestly say I look at everyone's avatars and the siggy's. I have clicked on several here at DP and I've only been a member for a few days.

 

Lol, same. It's cool looking at how other people make there sites etc..

 

There was recently a thread somewhere here on DP: " Do you eve click on Signature links" - or something of that sort. As it turns out - lots of people DO click on signature links if they seem interesting enough... I do. A few members even made a commission off of me

And yeah, backlinks!

 

Buy signatures and avatars. Good advertising here. Don't buy newbies signatures and not necessary to buy hig reputed members. Just find some DP members doing active average 10 post per day and pay to put links and avatars.
I think that is more natural and cost effective than paying to put on Shawn's Signature..
