    Hi,

I have around $500 to $750 for advertising.

What will I advertise? My copywriting and web design services.

Is the budget mentioned meant to be used this month alone? YES.

Am I willing to take it to $1000: Well it depends, but, YES I can take it to $1000 if something really worthwhile comes along.

Any input regarding this will be really appreciated!

the best advertisement in your niche is to PROVE beyond doubt that you are GOOD in what you charge for ...

hence since you have NO signatures, there is a chance that you have NO quality site yet,
thus if so my recommendation would be:

Invest in creating a QUALITY site, get that site into top ten on a NUMBER of different keywords relevant to your site, create what you want to sell and show the world how good you are, then you'll get a better ROI than simple ads ever could give for a single month.

One months of FULL time work at the very least would be needed to get the start done. the budget you have is plenty for that - in addition to your 400-600 hrs of work during that month.

if ever you have already a site -. same as above applies. invest the same full month and amount into IMPROVING your site and creating additional content.

if 400-600 hrs of work in a months is too much for you, then most likely you would be too weak to succeed anyway.
heads up! work to be done before success waits.

there is NO professional web design without professional SEO included - there is NO way to successfully market any of what you plan without having your own SUCCESSFUL SITE !!

Well written and targeted CPC campaigns. Also, try advertising on authority copy writing blogs, like copyblogger.com. If you're really good at what you do, try to guest post for them (even offer them some $ to let you do so) and get your plug in at the very end.

I have been doing a bit of promotion and already spen a lot of money. The tips I will tell you this is advertise on related sites only!!
If for example your site is regarding SEO then target webmaster blogs and such sites. Don't try and go advertise in celebrity sites and songs sites as they will only boost a one day traffic. Cheers
p/s- Hope that helps you a bit and goodluck :)

Buying expired domains that have traffic can be very effective way to get traffic. Then you just redirect it to your domain. Just be sure it's a related domain

Spend all 500$ on adwords, just make sure to pick the right keywords.

You should definitely create a website for yourself - either a blog or a few static pages to promote your service. Add some samples there as well as contact information. It's a lot easier to just point people to a website than manual type out samples/etc.

Then I would start a link building campaign for it and try to rank for things like "quality writing services," etc (just off the top of my head). That would get you some consistent traffic.

Personally I would spend it all on Adwords :) You can never have too much paid advertising!

    what is your production capacity..

its better to create unique mini sites.. and sell them on site point market place..

then when you have sold out atleast 5

come to dp and warrior forum show your example sites that sold out crazy.. testomonial etc.. and get continous work...

buying ads from adword will be total loss unless you provide something big.. as most webmasters are in dp warrior or sitepoint..

I am looking at Adwords, additionally need to know if I can find a webmaster resource site that does well for itself, having a banner for a couple of hundred with around a million page views a month should do the trick to help me surge traffic to the site temporarily. On a more long term basis, directory submission, continous PR distribution, article submission, product reviews on many blogs etc will fill up the menu for me.

I repeat I do have a website. I will link to it once we're ready to launch (which should be within a week, hopefully).

My production capacity till recently was around 100, 000 words of content a month. I have upgraded, moving to a new facility, and have upped my capacity to 550,000 words a month.
I completely agree, one can never have too much paid advertising. I personally can't seem to find enough sites that can do justice for the payment they ask. Barring a few extremely good webmaster sites, nobody really has been able to show me the demographics of the users that visit the site, age group, decision making capacity of the visitors, etc. I have even gone back to asking my partners and thought about investing a few $X,XXX on an extremely well to do site (alexa >500), but the prime spot seems to be extremely difficult to get a hold of. Bookings run through August and maybe to October too. I don't know, just when you think your moving into a bracket of decent advertising investments, you're proved wrong all over again. LOL

    Thanks!

    Aditya

I do create mini sites, however, I can create a few, host them and document traffic etc. and show them as samples.
Creating them, selling them on SP can be quite a daunting task. And, even if I do it, I really don't see how that is going to help me advertise my copywriting.

P.S. Please remember friends, I have in house writers, so articles, PR's and the likes are not an investment for me at all. I agree that my writers need to spend time on writing stuff for inhouse benefits, however, that's quite alright.

    Easier said than done.

Starting a PPC campaign - few hundred dollars, blowing $500 on a campaign that does not convert - PRICELESS ;)

... I mean, if you are a n00b to PPC - make sure you learn at least basic stuff about it before losing all the money. Make sure to TRACK each click and each keyword to see what works what doesn't.

You need to research the ROI of proposed ads and try out to find suitable ads methods that can work for you.

Can someone be hired for this? (I know the moment i write this, someone's going to reply saying, they'll help me for only $499/month) LOL.

I am not a complete Noob to adwords, and have had some really decent returns. I had some ads with a poor quality score, which I started deleting. So in that way, maybe I was not a PRO with adwords, however, I would never jump into something without finding out what it is.
    Thanks people, Aditya
