TTZ Media ads not showing outside the USA

Discussion in 'Pay Per Click Advertising' started by denovo, Jun 18, 2008.

    Seeing this on my sites where the ads should be and on the TTZ Media login page:

    TTZ Media Ads are targeted towards users in specific English speaking countries only.

    I thought maybe they did some filtering. However, this is ugly.

    Anyone else?

    I had signed up with them couple of months back and stopped using after a month's trial. It was pathetic - some times shows 'could not connect' errors, has a huge client script and more importantly the clicks were sitting in unaudited status for quite some time.

    I guess John Chow himself is making very little out of it, how can others? LOL

    I was using them on a photography blog because you can get some very specific product ads. Taking them off now as traffic is worldwide.

    I was considering using them along with adsense until I read this.
    I thought it was a better way to make more income, I guess its not.

    Same here. Anyway, anyone got any idea what these "specific English speaking countries" are and how to show other ads (e.g. adsense) when users are from other than these "specific English speaking countries"?

    Thanks.

    I know that the affiliate that TTZ uses only pays for USA clicks.

    ASE Adnet does the same, but we show ads regardless and do no geotargeting. That is left to the individual sites themselves to handle.

    At the end of the year or early next year, ASE Adnet will be able to show pricing information for international users.

    It was fine with me if TTZ only paid for clicks from the USA/Canada. At least show the ad not this ugly message. Now, I can't even set-up an ad as the Ad Code Generator shows the same message.

    WB, for example, lets you see the ad during set-up then displays the CPM ad on your site if you are viewing it outside the USA.

    Like I said, ASE Adnet doesn't do geotargeting so everyone sees the ads regardless.

    TTZ does not even tell us about this. no communications at all.
    I switched their ads with widgetbucks. at least WB pays on CPM as well ;)

    Not yet. There will be a new international section sometime at the end of the year for countries other than the USA.

    Right now, it is only USA clicks that get paid.

    mmm, i was just about to sign up with ASE :p
    I have a site with about 80% US visit, but I'm not going to let that 20% gone in my revenue ;)

    I think widgetbucks is the winner for this kind of shopping widget cause they pay for cpm on international traffic :D

    Whatever you feel is best for your site is what you should sign up with. Thanks for considering ASE Adnet, though.

    Unless you have a high traffic site, you won't make anything with WB CPM.

    TTZ now offers a new variable to show alternate ads

    var altcontent = "";

    But the last time I test the altcontent, altcontent is not showing. The TTZ ads sometimes show but most of the time not showing. Strange.

    p/s: From TTZ:

    IMPORTANT NOTICE : We now have regional restrictions on where the advertisements will appear. We are now limited to the following countries:

    * USA
    * Canada
    * UK
    * New Zealand
    * Australia
    * Hong Kong
    * Taiwan

    When TTZ Media ads are opened by a computer that is located outside of these regions, it can be replaced by alternative content. You may enter, text, HTML, or Javascript into this code block. Yes, that means you can serve up your Google Adsens as an alternative, or any other kind of personal promotion or content you wish to display for people viewing your sites from outside of the above mentioned regions. Please check out the Adcode Generator page for the "Alternative Content" input box. And then apply the code to your website.

    Anyone having the same problem? Hope they can solve this asap because my statistics is dropping by more than 80%. FYI, most of my traffic (>90%) is from US.

    The problem remains that you cannot test the USA+ ad if you are sitting outside these 7 countries.

    That was a temporary thing - we were under lots of pressure due to click fraud from China/india etc...

    That message has been resolved now, and you can replace it with alternative content. For example, your own Google code. So if the ad is opened outside of the specified English speaking areas, it will show whatever code you put in. So you can advertise other things. That message was left on for less than 24 hours as an emergency thing while I developed the alternative message module etc. Sorry about that!

    Nice of you to stop by. The problem remains that you cannot view an ad during set-up (Ad Code Generator) if you are sitting outside the 7 countries.
