I have a site having 75% visitors browsing from IE, and yet with 5000 Unique SE visitors, I manage to get a convert once in a week...

It doesn't even get Clicks... I have tried lots of stuff mostly with the text link.. But No Clickc NADA.. 3 clicks sometimes outof 5000 thousand Technology Ignorant Visitors I guess..

My site is not technology focussed and I guess they don;t even know what Firefox is..

but man 75% visitors is more than 3500 Internet Explorer user.

how come conversion is so low......

Is it normal to get 1 conversion per 35000 unique visitors??????

More than the flight of my referral earnings, i am worried that so many people still don't use firefox.. :)

Should I use a landing page lolz....

It converts only if is the first time the user install Firefox and the conversion is different from country to country. In Romania I get only 10 cent but in USA you get 1 $.
You can use text such as: "It has been proven that Firefox is most secure and fast browser so we recomend to install Mozilla Firefox" but do not point or encourage users to download.

Your visitors need a reason to download Firefox.
Think outside the box for a minute. You are visiting a site reading an article on cray fish butts for a college assignment in biology. In the page you see "Get firefox for secure and safer browsing", whats going on threw your mind at that moment? Certianly your mind in wrapped up in the butts, why would care about secure browsing? And this is where it leads to most importantly is targeted ads. You could put "Get firefox and these crayfish butts will look better" may bring about more conversions as it would give the visitor a reason too download it... lolz[IMG]
Jokes aside I put firefox refferals on my proxy sites, I tell people the "Get firefox the proxy will work better with it" and that seems to work quite well.

Dollar is 100% correct - you have to endorse firefox, sell it - give them reason to need it. Here is a good example from Google's own help-pages: How to "push" Firefox (scroll about halfway down to the Firefox referral part)

it's going to depend a lot on the type of traffic you're getting.. A year or so ago I was able to get 150 conversion/day .. today i'm happy to get 25-50 because the type of traffic today is totally different from what I was getting a year or two ago..

    Yeah.. I understand.
Most of your visitors must be repeat visitors (members) and it is new customers that would actually convert.

Mine are not a tech savvy lot, since I do mostly niche play.. But seeing the logs and 75% using IE, maybe they don't know what firefox is... And, moreover, it is not revelant to the sites

    Please Please don;t do that..
    Ever..

Different IPs, friends etc.. Google will find out.. and You will get banned.....
I mean google wants you to spread firefox, but asking someone to download them is very "Ban"ttractive
