Yepp they do. Beer bottles and cans are what I find the most (no surprise there). I take home all the crushed cans as well and I'm gonna take them to the local recycling center when I fill up a fifty gallon bin. On my blog I'm also gonna post any tips and tricks I learn as well. Well I'm off to go can hunting again.

I can't imagine the work though, especially crushed cans, how much you need to collect to accumulate 1kg for selling. Tough but honest work and great for the environment.

I don't know how much for 1kg. I have never taken back crushed ones before. For me its worth the work. I can do it in my time, when I want, where I want and more. And its tax free money. :p

Well I think you enjoy that habit a lot. Good for you.
I'd rather do my own things.

For some it is a livelihood, for others it is a mission when it comes to recycling. To each his own.

For some reason, people take all the cans and bottles, but it's pretty tough to get rid of a computer monitor with a tube in it? I have to call and make special arrangements to have it hauled away as hazardous material....... the shame!

It is hazardous materials, too many heavy metals etc inside. Thats why some of these trash are exported to third world countries which is cheaper even with the freight compared to handling it in the home countries themselves.

Thanks for the encouragement guys. I turned in two of my eight bags of cans and bottles today. So so far I have earned $7.00

    Only $243.00 left.
