This is just an update of a previous thread of John Scott selling V7N and almost everything associated with it. Original price was set at $500,000 and it just sold for $220,000 at sitepoint about a little under a week ago. Tsk, Tsk, such a shame at the price. Either way...... Money in Jason's pocket to pursue his Philosophy degree. Congrats
It's not much for v7n, but there's something I never liked about them. Well, not the actual site, but the forums. They're like, dead. I don't know if it's me, but they're just so slow...
Yes I Posted there a bit, but I found there rules to be too much. I kept getting warned about stupid things and just stop posting there.
Rules to be much? the only thing is they do n't allow more than two signature links other than that the forum is a good one , the only thing I disliked about them is their design....
I think that it is almost good deal since the time and efforts required to accelerate a forum after reaching to its maturity level cost higher.
You could say it was sold at half the price, or you could say the initial asking price was optimistic
True, very True. He sold it more than half off. Either way I knew he had a lot of trouble trying to sell it though. People wanted to do a payment plan when he was selling it at $500,000 and he said he wanted it all in one lump sum. I guess a reality shock though that not everyone has that much in their pockets unless one really is a big business where they can turn over a half mil right on the dime. I wonder why he didnt attrack real business's to buy out his site. I know that at 220k still is a large sum. But something is to say about his website and what major or small businesss would want to buy. And why not expand out to other business's otuside the webmaster world. I guess it didnt really cater to much to the business world possibly......
It's a real pity - such an undervalued asset. Great buy for whoever splashed out on it though, should make a tidy profit on that one.
oh I hated the owner of this place ... good and I'm glad he's gone! Lets hope he does nothing else online as well!
Hmm seems a low price taking in to consideration his profits, but hey. Hmm that went for $220,000 how much would DP go for....
The only problem with v7n forums is their memberbase. Staff are being paid to post and they have insanely high post counts...it makes a regular user not feel as in as everybody else. Most other users are complete n00bs who just spam etc...
Congrats to John on the sale. I'm a member there also but have around 10 post's. Just felt out of place there with the staff posting a lot. Perhaps the new owner in the next few week's will change a few things around to make V7N even better. The main thing i'd like to see improved is the whole forum.
I did register there and don’t really remember if I posted anything or not, but really didn’t feel as attached or welcomed there as I do on DP.
