How did you get all your GREEN rep? - REP SHOW OFF -

    Reputation Show and Tell
Show off that big rep you got, but let us know where, how and why you got the reps.

Compared to others, DP is a forum where reputation can be a hard thing to earn. Either the people with it dont' like to give it out, or people here just forget about it and dont even think to give rep. If you look at a lot of other places, senior members and mods spread the rep often for good posts and helpful information or for being a positive, active member. I know I do.

Usually the only people I see with a ton of rep here on DP are mods or members with thousands of posts. (which makes sense)

    __________________________________________________________________________

For newbies, and senior members who are looking, let's share with each other, how we gained our rep points. Link to DP threads or posts that earned you a lot of rep from the community. You had to have gotten to from somewhere, for some reason, let us know where and why. That would be awsome!

I've heard conspiracy theories of rep building groups, clicks and stuff like that. I don't know if that's true but if so, it's not a good practice and Karma will bite you eventually.

By showing your reputable posts off this will help to put that theory to rest. And it will show newbie's and senior members looking to get a better reputation, how to go about doing so.

So, if you got it, flaunt it!

Link to where, on DP, and tell us why you got the rep that you got!

Reps are not competition, and it should be given only for serious purpose.
There is no such e-book "how to get reps on digitalpoint"...

Just be honest, trustworthy and nice guy. Don't ACT to be one but actually be one!

Thats it. Nothing to show off.

    Here are the breakdown of my measly reps;

    1 - Making helpful posts (~70-80%)
2 - Giving things away in the free and just being nice (~20-30%)

Nice, I heard that comedic posts can help to gain rep. Do you have any posts in particular that gained you a whole lot of rep?

Not a competition at all, Showing off doesn't mean it's a competition, perhaps I choose the wrong words. I meant "show and tell".. Something everyone does. And rep is very important to some, especially those who do business on the forum, it helps to let others know you are a reputable member, someone who most likely is not here to scam.

    Nice breakdown.

LOL, Thanks for the link so that people can see an example of a reputable post. That was a good post and deserving of rep, I'm glad that people took note of your efforts and rewarded you for being a good member :) Too bad rep's gained in the General Chat board are a 0 value and don't add up.

most of mine were for giving away free things like high PR backlinks

    some for being helpful

i think more people should use it but i dont think its visible enough

its a good marker for forum respectability :)

That's why reputation is harder to come by on this forum. When dealing with money you have to be sure you are giving someone who is trustworthy reputation and not a scammer by accident.

That is a very good point! And for that reason, I really don't think people should give rep's for funny posts.. too often.

However one could argue that rep is more of a community factor where as Itrader is for people who use the BST. I've had 26, 100% positive Itraders left (no penny sales either), but not one rep for a sales thread. Nor have I ever left rep for a sales thread.

Threads like this, this and this helped a lot and others were my hundreds of helpful posts only. I am not that funny on the board to get rep for fun!
