"they make the most and still cant save....put a person from any 3rd world (india, pakistan, china) and they can live 100 years off 1 year of their salary"

Do you mean 1 year of their salary in their own country or work in United states and go back to their own country/s?

"they can live 100 years off 1 year of their salary"

    They CAN'T (c) someone from 3rd world.

"Do you mean 1 year of their salary in their own country or work in United states and go back to their own country/s?" Any of this...they can't live even 10 years with it. Food for example costs the same as in USA, rent also growing up and people pay twice what they pay 4 years ago. And some of the reason is mighty America who imports their inflation along with LOTS of dollars to that 3rd world:( That's why you see only 3% yearly inflation most of the time.

In the 3rd world it's possible to life for less. In most of the third world there are free markets where small farmers sell cheese, fruits and vegtables for low prices. In the US supermarkets have a zoning monoply and in some rural areas in the US people pay $4 for a loaf of bread in a gas station mini mart. In fact a lot of people in the third world have a small plot in their backyard where they keep a few chickens and grow some vegatables or fruits. In suburban USA people spent thousands of dollars cultivating grass and thousands more cutting it.

As the "global economy" becomes more pervasive, Americans may learn to live more economically again.

Perhaps this will be a growing niche on the web. You heard it here first. :)

Fruits and vegatables are actually more expensive than meat in a lot of supermarkets. Even a few apple trees and an herb garden to make a salad would help a family out. The garage is a perfect place to keep the family swine and a couple of goats in the backyard will supply fresh milk.

If you could work it out with your neighbors, you could grow the apples, they could grow some carrots, another could grow ... oh never mind.

The IRS would never let you barter/trade food. :(

Carrots, beets, leeks, turnips, onions, and potatoes are a great source for making stews and soups. With a little barley, meat and beans you could feed a family in tough times.

There is a huge barter economy in this nation.

You might learn about it once you move out of you parents house.

    You talk crap -- period.

You tireless adolescent ramblings accomplish nothing but wasting peoples time. They aren't even funny, just pathetic.

And yet there is a huge barter economy in this nation.

That fact does not mesh well with your claim that the IRS would never allow it.

Jesus kid, think before you post.

The International Reciprocal Trade Association estimates that half a million small businesses using commercial barter exchanges generate some $10 billion in "sales" each year.

Sure there are farmers markets but they are gimmicks help a few times with a few vendors. There's nothing like what you see in other parts of the world where the markets are so big that you could spend days purchasing there. And these markets are open 7 days a week every week. Even in small towns there is a weekly market.

Ahh, but it used to be so different. When you can't eat tomatoes at a restaurant because they are all contaminated due to third world growing conditions and factory farming it is a sad state of affairs. It really says a lot about how much we have lost sight of what's really important, like safe food instead of bottom lines and minimizing overhead. I think I might till up my entire yard and plant some staples. Time to plant some victory gardens people!

Lawns cost water, fertilizers, insecticides, herbicides, machinery and labor. No wonder why people are going broke.

And the "environmentalists" have convinced most local governments to radically increase the price of water.

Having a good sized lawn right now is really quite expensive in a lot of areas.
