Is it worth paying the $299 per year for Yahoo Directory? What do you guys think, what are the benefits?
There are a bunch of different views on this. It is a backlink from an authority site. Having that is never a bad thing. Now whether or not it is worth $299 is up to you. It depends on how much you value that $299 vs a link from Yahoo. I personally have not submitted there.
I think this same question is asked at least once a week Many explanations will be found in earlier threads I see no point in a new thread on this subject
I am wondering of the results it may bring. Will it increase traffic? Will it help for seo purpose and increase my traffic? I mean why do they charge so much? Has anyone who bought the link seen any increase and relevancy from traffic sources?
A listing in yahoo directory can both bring your traffic and increase your SEO. If I have the budget, I will order one.
For someone with over 400 posts on this site, you would think you would be able to at least use the search function. If you were paying a bit more attention you might even discover a way to avoid the fee in another thread from today but I guess it's just more fun to create a useless thread and be a smart alack.
It doesn't hurt at all to get a link from an authority directory. Though can't say whether it may bring you lotta traffic.
Are people saying "it's a good link" - is this based on actual traffic from Yahoo, that they personally got and if so how much traffic is sent to them. Ofcourse they could be saying "Yeah it's a great link to have" without knowing anything. I have a free link in Yahoo .....somewhere, I may trawl for it if I'm bored, but I refuse to have an orgasm over it. My feeling is the Yahoo directory link is used by most companies for a 'presence' reason more than the traffic it sends. You can get a free Yahoo link under Yahoo UK & Ireland directory. Just submit and pray!
I will submit my World Links Directory to Yahoo! directory next week or so, and after those 7 days review time will pass, I will come here with the first impressions.
